Oh HELL no. I use PC for school, internet...and Hi-res Mugen. You see with computers, I feel like it's so...disassemble-able, like you can just keep attaching stuff to it and taking things apart. Doesn't ever feel like it's complelely whole, swap disc drives, hard drives, monitors, keyboard...graphics cards, you name it. I take a PC as a very essential house item, but a gaming console...is where gaming should be at 🙂. The only PC gaming I do is Hi-res mugen...and that's fun as hell btw. Custom characters, stages and music ftw. And it looks beautiful.

Well, if you build a good PC from the get-go, you won't have to worry about adding stuff. And really, just because you can add a whole bunch of stuff to it, doesn't mean you have to.

Gaming console is where gaming should be at? I respectfully disagree.

Ah well, I suppose you aren't as graphics-sensitive as I have previously thought.

But by graphics sensitive I wasn't implying I want the best looking game out there. Just in terms of PS3/360 because I really can't put my computer in the area I play games and my monitor is small anyway...and I don't have the graphics card to play the uber games like Gears of War. I think only my 360 can handle that (not that I like Gears of War...)

I am sensitive, when a mutli-platform game looks better on the PS3. That is all. If DMC4 was better looking on PC, I wouldn't care. I never wanted PC and gaming to be in the same sentence. That only gave me problems with my PC before, and I wouldn't buy a PC-gaming computer, because I'm going to have to buy controllers to install...find big screen TV's with VGA ports, etc. etc.

Edit: But if not controllers since I think 360 can go into that, my TV's VGA port doesn't display such a good picture...if VGA is the only route you can connect a PC to a TV.

That "some reason" would be the fact that the 360 is a billion times easier to code for. It's not worth the time, money, and effort to optimize for the PS3.

And the PS3 has already had over three years to have something show it's full potential and have games that are fully optimized for it. Pretty sure that's been more than enough time.

Also, chances are likely FFXIII will look the same on both systems. It is far, far easier to optimize a game for the 360 than it is for the PS3. And like what ArtificialGlory said, there are a lot of Sony fanboys who are still pissed off that FF isn't a Sony exclusive (as they forget the history of the series) and do whatever they can to badmouth the 360 and the 360 version of the game.

The main problem with the 360, is the faulty hardware.

The system itself has a capable graphics engine, but the build quality is horrendous. The 360 has one of the most recalls in console history.
Overheating problems, RRoDs, and some such.
You'd be lucky to squeeze out 4 hours of gameplay, before some technical issue arises.

And yeah, I also get irritated to those PS3 fanboys/girls who insist that FF should be a Sony exclusive. They seem to not know/forget that FF was first ported on a Nintendo console.

Only FF started becoming popular since the making of VII, which was released on a Sony console.

I don't know.

Yes, that much is true about the X360. Its hardware issues are undeniable. Now I understand you have to take good care of it, keep it in a well-ventilated room, don't smother it with other objects, clean the dust, etc. I understand all that, but it's not a damn baby, it should be able to take some.

True, but not even FF7 was a PS exclusive.

First made on a Nintendo console, not ported 😛

You're being sarcastic, right? 😛

I don't know.

What?

FF IV disagrees 😛

More random than sarcastic. I know squat about FFVII other than it's probably the most popular FF if not one of the most.

*scratch*

It's the first "modern" FF game, and most of its popularity is from that fact. I would personally rate it in the bottom half of the series, though, and FF was certainly very popular before that one came out.

Medieval FF's can kiss it. FFVII and X all the way (with XIII and Versus XIII right behind). 313

Oh, you finally played FFVII huh? Bout time.

I still like FFVII a lot. For it's time is was mind blowing in many ways, and it's hard to really appreciate that playing it a decade later for the first time.

I played FF7 in its time, but it didn't exactly blow my mind. Quite the opposite, really.

Hehe. Might and Magic was all the fuss for me back in the 90s when it came to RPGs.

Wait...how is the Zack Fair not perfect? He made SOLDIER (or in Japanese pronounciation, "soul-ja" 😆) Making SOLDIER = being perfect in the literal sense.

Apparentely Xbox live/Playstation network is full of sex predators.

I freakin' lol'd, but at the same time, not surprised.

Well, I mean, I use them both. So it's kinda true.

PS3 Query

Hi All,

I just had a quick question to ask. I just got a PS3 this Christmas, one of the 60gb models. I was just going to update it since I know a lot of the updates allow for more compatibility with PS1 and PS2 games. However, a friend of mine recent;y told me that one of the newer updates will compromise some of the backwards compatibility. I wonder if this was true or not? Also, is there anything else I should know before updating? I'm doing my own research currently but figured it would not hurt to ask here as well. Thanks in advance.
