Last-Gen Console Discussions (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii)

$40 or $45, actually 😛

Also, Nintendo has decided to - finally - release a black Wii system.

Can you hook up an old PS2 controller to the PS3?

Not that I know of.

Can I save game info/files from my PS3 onto a USB flash drive if I'm running low on hard drive space? I don't want to delete any of my progress, but I'm running low on hard drive space. I have an 80 GB PS3, and I'm down to 30 GB. I'm just curious for when the time comes that I'm REALLY low.

They originally sold an adapter that would let you do this, but Sony hasn't made it since they discontinued the 60GB systems. No point in it anyway, since no PS3s play PS2 games anymore.

I'm not entirely sure, give it a try maybe?

Or if you've installed any games to your system, uninstall those...😛

I think I read somewhere that you can transfer save files, I'll have to look into it more.

Christ. Why do PS3 controllers cost so damn much? I need another one and they're $50 USED at Gamestop.

I need to get me another one as well, but I think I'll end up going the eBay route.

Natal Pricing Rumors Spread
How much will Microsoft's motion cost you?

As we approach the Electronic Entertainment Expo there are more and more rumors regarding upcoming game and hardware announcements. Today Edge has cited a "trusted source" with information regarding the price and launch date of Project Natal, Microsoft's new motion sensing controller.

The article states that Natal will be bundled with the Xbox 360 Arcade unit and will cost $299. This would be available to consumers the world over on October 26. The price for Natal on its own would be $149, more than the announced price for Sony's Move.

Microsoft, of course isn't commenting on this information, and it should all be taken with a grain of salt at this point. We hope to have plenty of solid info about Project Natal, including its official name in a few weeks when E3 kicks off in Los Angeles.

Sony Remembers The PS3 Is A HD System

Despite flogging the PS3 as a high definition system, Sony has long been content to ship the device with composite cables. As in, one the worst quality standard definition cables you can get.

What this means is that for millions of people who may not take this stuff as seriously as you or I might, they go buy a big HD TV, they go buy a PS3, and then...end up playing in standard definition, because nobody bothered to point out you need HD cables to go with your HD hardware (I don't want to pick on Sony exclusively for this either, as Microsoft pull the same stunt)

Well, looks like Sony is looking to make amends, as a reader passes on this new bundle that's just hitting stores. It's a new PS3 pack that includes not only a copy of LittleBigPlanet (the Game of the Year edition), but also a HDMI cable. Handily, it's a six-foot cable, too, not one of those one or two-feet ones that can barely reach your TV.

This one was spotted at Fry's.

i'm not a ps player. the last time I had a ps was when 2 first came out. I moved on to xbox shortly after and been a fan till this day. I love my 360. love it. but ps3's looking kinda enticing with sony trying to implement 3d bluray technology with it's console and bravia flat screen. I mean everyone knows how clear and crisp a bluray picture looks but imagine it in 3D. imagine bluray 3D gaming in 1080p done right.

man o man. how are this gonna be in 5 years, with ciscos light speed internet coming, the introduction of on live and it's potential. higher res tv. the new next gen systems and gaming, graphics and physics.

unimaginable, I think. but I have a feeling that this are gonna get retarded awesome.

this = things. just woke up.

and i meant to write "and pc gaming, graphics and physics."

my wallet can't keep up

Yeah, too much expenses for this kind of things.

The video game developers/producers should come up with a new all-in-one console... I mean, everything is bundled in a package, the important accessories already there (ie. external HDD, etc)

Hm. It looks even more like a computer tower than it used to...

too little too late, why didn't they do this 3 years ago?

Been there...done that. 😎

Everyone already knows; we were discussing it in the Kinect thread.

And I am almost tempted to get one at the next shipment, but even with the trade-in offers it's more money than I can spare to spend at the moment.

has it RRoD yet? 131

I'm tempted to get one as well... though at the moment it'll be a waste of money. I'll just wait till my 360 red ring'd

I like the design, it will go along beautifully with my PS3. my white box breaks the balance in my living room 😐

Only when I jump up and down of excitment! I really like the HDMI port and the wi-fi. MW2 kicks ass!

Don't get a slim yet...wait for a price drop. I'm sure it will happen once Kinect arrives later this year.

It doesn't go red ring on you, instead it shoots a lazer and kills you before you get the chance to complain.

But in all in seriousness I think there is still hardware problems
