is your gamestop in a small town or out in the country ? cause i noticed where my grandparents live in virginia the prices at the gamestop over their were different than the major cities. the last price for the core sytem was $250 in houston.

cause it remember being $299 and drop down to $250

whats the average price for a new PS3 or 360 game at your location without tax ?

and yeah we are in the 7th gen with the consoles but if your specifically talking about the 360s they have their own gen. same thing for PS3 or wii.

you never had customers ask for 2nd or current gen 360s when they were looking to purchase a used system ?

360 fans know that the 1st gen ones were the worst ones. and the 2nd gen 360s to current have the HDMI port. also they had different mother boards thats why people consider them as different gen 360s.

All Gamestops in the US have the same prices. It may have been a lower end price after it was discontinued, but that's what the last price before being discontinued was.

It doesn't matter what people consider them as; they are not a different generation.

thats what i thought but no they dont all have the same price. in cities you will find them having the same price but if you got a gamestop in alask or somwhere out in the middle of no where its gonna be more pricey. I went to hawaii last year and the price tags on the new PS3 and 360 games were $64.95. thats the pricee without tax. the prices for the new games at the gamestop where my grandparents live in virginia was like $62 something on the price labels.

yeah i know it doesnt make sense them being different prices when you can get it online for $59.99 but then again once you add the shipping and tax it probably adds up to their prices.

their hardware is. they have to have some type of different referral for people who mess with the hardware or people buying used systems and dont want one of the original models.

is internal as it fits inside the console... but you can still pull it out if you want to and change it with another one

E3 10: Do NOT do this with your new Xbox 360

If you own an Xbox 360 you know the most annoying thing about it is the RRoD. You probably know the second most annoying thing about it as well, and that is that it can scratch the sh*t out of your discs. Nothing like plopping down $60 bucks just to get home and have the game ruined because your console destroyed it. You'd think this would be something the Microsoft would take care in their new version of the console since it seems they've taken care of many of the other issues the console had. Think again. Our intrepid E3 team tested the console out with an Alan Wake disc and then Nick decided to move it. Suddenly all hell breaks loose. Goodbye, Alan Wake.

Sure, there was a sticker on the damn thing saying not to move it, but it isn't like he was tossing it around the room. They're planning on having gesticulating children play Kinect anywhere near this thing? Some games are going to be getting destroyed, people. Looks like everyone needs to be really, really careful around their new 360s while they are on or their games are going to get wrecked.

you're not supossed to move it anyways, but it's still troublesome... and they do have a point there with the Kinect comment

Xbox 360 slims shut down to prevent Red Ring of Death

It's become a common joke that the new Xbox 360 Slim prevents Red Rings of Death simply because Microsoft took the red lights out. However, it's been revealed that there is a real preventative measure built into the Slim, as opposed to a simple aesthetic avoidance of the issue. The new Xbox 360 SKU voluntarily shuts itself down if it's not ventilating properly, in a bid to avoid damage from overheating.

If the 360 detects that it isn't getting enough ventilation, it will give the player a warning message before entering shutdown mode, whereupon its power light will flash. The system can then be switched on again once the light ceases to flash. The idea is to increase the lifespan of the console by powering down before it gets too hot and suffers internal damage.

A smart idea in theory, but one wonders how annoying a 360 that shuts itself down will be, especially if Microsoft hasn't fixed the issue of overheating in the first place. Has Microsoft fixed the RRoD only to replace it with an even more embarrassing and widespread problem? We'll have to wait and see just how often this shutdown feature needs to kick in before we know for sure. I just have a bad feeling about this, given Microsoft's commitment to making terrible things happen.

Sounds annoying 😐

never move your system when its on and dont have it standing up.

ive heard twice now about people having problems with the graphics card in the new slim console. im kinda worried now about getting one.

YouTube video

says over heating issue but i can tell theres something going on with the video processor. plus someone needs to tell him thats wrong having all his 360's standing up in the 1st place.

why the hell does he have 3 360 consoles hooked up to one display anyways ?

Oh damn!

Now I'm not so sure I want a 360 Slim

that's the same problem the first batch/gen of Wii had (I talk out of experience) It's most definitely a problem with the Graphics Processor, it has overheated beyond repair and will surely need replacement.
it's a cheap GPU 😬

too bad. How could something like this escape M$?. If this is a widespread problem, shame on them. the thing isn't even out for a week.
If it is indeed a GPU problem, it won't go away. You can still use it, but the lines and artifacts will never go away

BTW: what's this about not keeping the console in vertical position? it's been design to work that way, and it overheats far less than it does laying on it's side. not to mention it saves space

All my consoles work standing up, I just put them on their side when they're off... so they don't accidentally fall 😐

EDIT: some are saying it's a problem with the HDMI cable... if it is then, good... if it isn't 😐

if you have your system standing up it will over heat more and damage your discs.

try this and see if this changes your mind about having your system stand up.

make sure your system is off set it down flat and when you turn it on put your hand on the right side of the system while its running. not where the Hard drive is .on the opposite side of the system and tell me if you still think its a good idea to have the system standing up.

thats one of the main parts of the 360 where the fan circulates

Having a system shut itself down before any damage is done is perfectly reasonable. The PS3 does the same thing.

In the case of the wii is different, it's much cooler that way. My first wii overheated because I used it on its side rather than standing up. The PS3 as well works great standing up (the original fat model) the left side (while standing up it will be the lower part) feels like an AC compared to the top, always blowing cool air.

I don't know about the 360 but it's the first time I heard of such thing. still working great and always standing (the right side where the MoBo rest feels much cooler when it's up rather than when it's been laying flat)... though that's how I feel it.

I saw it coming a mile away..

They're trying to hide the flaws with a new design.
Too bad that kind of scheme won't work, on me anyways.

It's all about the hardware man. M$ just doesn't get it.

Just saw the video about Miyamoto making a fool out of himself when he tried to use the Wii's motion controller during this year's E3. So sad.

I'm sure that's what people will remember him for... 🙄

Who cares? The man is a God.

He is all that is good about Nintendo.

Of course that is what people are going to remember him for. Everyone will be "Miya who? Oh yeah that senile asn dude that thinks he has done anything for the industry. What a fkn douche can't even aim the wiimote."

it was sad, simply because that really is what a lot of people will remember him by.

haha. that vid was funny as ****.
with all respects to the old geezer, he srsly needs to retire.

😐

why would someone retire form something they enjoy doing, and they are still good at it?

Because some idiot on the internet said so, of course.
