Ah, A common card I see played oh, so commonly. A good, easy, way of dismissing christian belief, dare I say a closed-minded way?

You can actually cast off any belief saying that it is closed-minded, Scientific, atheistic and religious beliefs can all be castoff by using those words.

I dislike the use of that phrase as much as the phrase "It's not fair" and the wanton use of foul language. It's just that I see it as a sign of low intelligence, when people use those three cards.

And why does everyone seem to think Atheists are just wasting their life?

My apologies, allow me to clarify. What I meant was that if there is no God, then you would be wasting your life to pray fervently to every god ever imagined, I apologise for the confusion that I may have caused.

Just because I don't have a God to look to to govern my moral compass doesn't make my life any less important as the next. You, pry Christian or some other stupidass religion, have proved you are closed-minded just by your assuming Im Atheist, and then even moreso by assuming an Atheist's beliefs mean you are just wasting your life.

Hmm, and you have just proven your own stupidity by assuming that I assumed that you were athiest. In fact, I never said anything about you being athiest. Furhtermore, your phraze "Stupidass religion" Showa that you have little to no respect towards the faith of others.

Do not believe blindly! Question what is truth and don't make your decisions set in stone! Things change, new truths are discovered, and those who have the most open-mind will be able to see b/c their eyes have never shut.

Religions hate on you for questioning, just like they hate on your for whackin it when God forbid you have a boner! Do what your heart tells you! My heart literally tells me, with all the blood it pumps to that area, that YES YOU SHOULD! YES YES YOU SHOULD! [/B]

And don't be so quick to condemn that which you don't understand. Good day to you, I must do my homework.

Oh good, I almost thought people were generalising here.

Intresting how you so quickly jump to condemnation... You claim that you are agnostic, but I don't you questioning anything... you just are oughtright condemning it... For example:

With all religions, I tend to avert my attention to the time in which they have existed. I see a trend in the amount of different religions blossoming from the creative mind's of everyone on this planet and in history. And looking back on history, we hear about gods like Zeus, Ares, Apollo, Hades, etc.. Then the Native Americans with their praying to the 4 directions, the Great Spirit, and Mother Earth. Then we have Muslims, Jews, Christians, Mormons.. etc..

What makes it all "mumbo jumbo" to me is the fact that they just keep popping up. Nothing has happened for these religions to just emerge from the woodwork. Scientology, I mean WTF... Just another one, but someday, stupid it may seem today, if it stands the time of a thousand years people will forget how stupid it is and it will become like Christianity, or Mormonism, etc..

Quit lying to yourselves. There is no magic man in the sky strumming a golden harp on a cloud. There is nothing except for whatever we conjure in our minds and speak aloud to some idiot next to us to believe. Stop spreading lies.

Anyway, I realised that I can do this and homework at the same time (Gotta love tabbed browsing. 🙂)

I have my struggles with religion, like many. Mine to be more exact is because my parents have grown up Christian and do not understand my questioning it's truthfulness.

So I've stated I see a trend, I've called it mumbo jumbo, and I've also gave light to the fact that religion can be beneficial to ones life.

I struggle with it b/c I'm nto always happy, and if embracing a spiritual community can help me, I'd like to partake in it. However more keep popping up making the credibility of religion harder and harder to fathom.

I suppose I don't need faith, but the fact that it could help is enticing. Oh and if my swearing makes me seem unintelligent, than I guess everyone is just not as smart as you. Good job on that, You should win the Pulitzer for forum posting.

I'll continue to swear as it makes it easier on the eyes. We are simple creatures and enjoy simple things. F*ck you is fun to say, but even funner when you mean it.

"F*ck you!"

😂

Literally my heart produces sound, and one time it beeped the exact letters to the aforementioned phrase, "YES YOU SHOULD! YES YES YOU SHOULD!" via Morse Code.

You are wrong, but I understand why given the unusual circumstances.

Morse?

I stick with my joy over seeking Happiness. Happiness fades over time, true joy, however doesn't. Even in the harshest struggles, when I am infuriated at everything around me, I still find joy in my faith. And even at that, I find that I have been happier a little bit more regularly when I began to take my faith more seriously. I'm a simple person, Rainx, and quite frankly, I don't need to swear, or have sex, or any of that to be happy. I find most happiness in sharing life and sharing faith.

Right on, good for you.

I take it you understand my own struggles with Christianity. As far as the need to have sex and all that, I think I am a creature of habit. I swear once you start you can't stop; or rather have trouble stopping. Like marijuana, I have been a habitual user for years and I try to quit and the most I can do is a week until I fall back to the routine. But, I got into some heavy working out and took some real steps toward quitting and it's now been over a month. And shit it's been easy. Anyways, I am glad you came at me with a different tone, maybe if you are so happy and/or joyful you won't feel the need to bash others intelligence, or what you deem intelligent. But if it makes you happy, it can't be that baaaaaaad. - Someone sang that, who?

My apologies, It was wrong to bash your inteligence. However, I think there may be reasons that God says not to have sex before marrage, or not to do drugs, and that addiction thing, just may be one reason... Along with unwanted pregnancies, and those ever-cheerfull STD's or on the other side those chances of over-dose, and dulling of inhibitions. 🙂

God never says there should be no sex before marriage.

Well what if someone or a group of people realized that sex and drugs and all those things can produce many problems for people that can stem off at any moment and produce another problem, and another and another, and then wrote it and called it faith, and everyone just believed b/c they saw the truth in it.

yes, the B-I-B-L-E, yes that's the book for me
