I'm soo greatfull also. I can't imagine life without the spirit. Truely Kella, welcome back. God and Christ must be so proud of you!

Kella, best luck with the patriarticle blessing! I know that after having mine I could never question the existence of God, his spirit or his love ever again. It's the most amazing thing. I hope that you all get yours when you are ready, and try to be ready, it's a real blessing.

RAB, lol, if you really want to go I'm sure you can find a bus.

If we go, my mom will have to come with me (lol, then you won't be the oldest for sure Kella). You guys understand right!?

But that would be the coolest.

Anywho, thanks for the song links!

anyone up for sharing favorite scriputres!?
here is mine, I know I've shared it before, I'll try a new one next time.

D&C: 50; 40 -46
40 Behold, ye are little children and ye cannot bear all things now; ye must grow in grace and in the knowledge of the truth.
41 Fear not, little children, for you are mine, and I have overcome the world, and you are of them that my Father hath given me;
42 And none of them that my Father hath given me shall be lost.
43 And the Father and I are one. I am in the Father and the Father in me; and inasmuch as ye have received me, ye are in me and I in you.
44 Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall.
45 And the day cometh that you shall hear my voice and see me, and know that I am.
46 Watch, therefore, that ye may be ready. Even so. Amen.

Cools...

My absolute favorite scripture is this...

2 Nephi 33:6
I glory in plainness; I glory in truth; I glory in my Jesus for he hath redeemed my soul from hell.

And I also like these.

Listen up those who don't believe we're Christians...
Alma 46:15
And those who did belong to the church were faithful; yea, all those who were true believers in Christ took upon them gladly, the name of Christ, or Christians as they were called, because of their belief in Christ who should come.
And if I recall...our church is called: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Sounds like a match to me.

ooh...he told you! lol!
Helaman 13:29
"O ye wicked and ye perverse generation; ye hardened and ye stiffnecked people, how long will ye suppose that the Lord will suffer you? Yea, how long will ye suffer yourselves to be led by foolish and blind guides? Yea, how long will ye choose darkness rather than light?"

Okay...I have some more, but I'm falling asleep. G'night.

some awesome scriptures there... really awesome. here i'll share a few...

D&C 100:5-8

5 Therefore, verily I say unto you, lift up your voices unto this people; speak the thoughts that I shall put into your hearts, and you shall not be confounded before men;
6 For it shall be given you in the very hour, yea, in the very moment, what ye shall say.
7 But a commandment I give unto you, that ye shall declare whatsoever thing ye declare in my name, in solemnity of heart, in the spirit of meekness, in all things.
8 And I give unto you this promise, that inasmuch as ye do this the Holy Ghost shall be shed forth in bearing record unto all things whatsoever ye shall say.

I had them marked in my scriptures, but didnt notice it until i just so happen to flip through and glance at it. it was great and helped me out a while back. then there is this one i really like...

D&C 1:38

What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fullfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my my servants, it is the same.

Hear that? whether by His voice, or by ours as long as we are worthy to be His servants. i just think it's really neat, hehe! then this one has to be my favorite. i use to struggle with this and often be jealous, but now it gives me the reason not to be jealous. it's Mosiah 5:9...

Mosiah 5:9

And it shall come to pass that whosoever doeth this shall be found at the right hand of God, for he shall know the name by which he is called; for he shall be called by the name of Christ.

i use to envy Christ and always ask why we have no place at the right hand of God. i use to think that no matter what we did, we were always at the left hand of God. well, that just proved me wrong, and i remember when i read that for the first time. i friggin balled my eyes out, yes me Ramsey, the guy who does not cry. well, there are a few scriptures... sorry i havent been posting as much lately, but time has became less for me. anyways, love you all and talk to you all soon...

RamZ

hmm where to start? where to start well, personally, i like D&C section 87 all of it, it was one that help me come to know that Joseph was a prophet, in section 87 it is a revelation of the Civil War that is about to come, years before it happened. there was no way that he could have been able to tell that was going to happen unless it was revealed to him.

then lets see Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters for either he will hate the one and love the other or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot server God and mammon.

that was is awesome, it helps you learn that you can't do what God tells you to do, if you are doing what the world tells you to do, it just really makes you realize how much God loves you.

D&C section 4 of course

then D&C section 4:1, 6:1, 11:1, 12:1, 14:1 they all say the same thing, A great and marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men.

and ill end with this D&C 18:10,15-16
10 Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God,

15 And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people and bring save it be one sould unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my father.

16 And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how greast will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me

if you couldnt tell, I love D&C im studing it right now

Those were great scriptures guys. This was a good decision.

How about your favorite hymns? I'm curious to know which songs in the church touch your heart, inspire you, whatnot.

Music is a huge deal for me. I can't play any instruments or carry a tune, but I listen to music all the time, no matter where I am. Music has been a great pasttime for my family. So what are your favs?

I can't seem to pick a favorite. I like so many.

Abide With Me, Tis Eventide

I Know That My Redeemer Lives

Oh! I love that EFY mix of:
Sisters In Zion/ We'll Bring The World His Truth

Primary songs:

I'm Trying To Be Like Jesus

Child's Prayer

My Heavenly Father Loves Me

just to name a small few.

My friend sent me a link for this LDS hymn site... Just incase you can't think of the name of something. Though I'm sure you guys already know about it.

LDS Hymns

Thanks every one! Those were beautiful scriptures. I just addedlike five new ones to my favorites!

Kella, I love the one from second nephi, it's simple and beautifull. Ramses, nice to hear from you again! Same for you RAB(the d&c is really cool)!

I'ts allways neat to let scriptures you once didn't understand into your heart.

I used to have troubles with the scriptures about Christ glorying more in the one lost sheep who came back than all the rightious, I felt like, I should be important too, for sticking by Christ. But then I realised two things.

One, is that we don't need to feel left out when Christ is glorying in others, all we have to do is have that joy with him, it can fill our souls so there is no room to feel jealousy.

And two, we all stray, no matter how hard we're trying. It's neat to know that there are moments when Christ is glorying in each of us individually.

Anyway, I love abide with me tis Eventide too! Those are all great hymns!

Some of my favorites are:

Now Let Us Rejoice

Oh, My Father

Nearer My God to Thee

If You Could Hie to Kolob

I Need Thee Every Hour (the only one I can play both hands of on the piano)

Carry on

and deffinately A poor Wayfaring Man of Grief

Wow...those are excellent choices. How could I forget them? *facepalm*

I really have loved Abide With Me Tis Eventide since watching The Other Side of Heaven. The scene where Kolipoki was saving that little boy's life and the dad was sitting beside the fire singing it! Uh...beautiful! And NOT on the soundtrack...boo!

That is a totally true statement about the sheep and the shepherd. He will always come find us when we each get lost. Because sometimes...we all need to be saved...it reminds us of our importance in the long run of things. As long as He comes for us...we know that we are of great worth to Him and to the Father.

Makes you feel good doesn't it? 🙂

Some of my favorite hymns? Well, I really love I Need Thee Every Hour. It's a beautiful hymn... well theres the others;

Count Your Blessings

Come, Come, Ye Saints

Glory to God on High

He Died! The Great Redeemer Died

High on Mountain Top

I am a Child of God

I Believe in Christ

Let Us All Press On

Lord, I Would Follow Thee

My Redeemer Lives

Praise to the Man

The Spirit of God

So, there are quite a few I like. Those are the hymns that have touched me at some point. Anyways, hope you all like them also. They all are really good. Oh yeah, can't forget Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel, remember that one RAB? Use to sing that every sunday in priesthood when I first joined. I liked it becuase it's quite catching, and energetic. That and singing it so often you tend to remember it. Well, to all I love you. Good night, and forever peace be with thee.

RamZ-

Hymns, first off i would like to say all of yours that you guys have listed.

Joseph Smiths First Prayer

Battle Hymn of the Republic

In Our Lovely Deseret

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day

pretty much every childs hymn

Nephi's Courage, and Army of Helamen being my favorites

Called to Serve

and many more. I love the Hymns, BYU has what is known as tunnel singing on sunday nights from 10-11, and i go to that and sing hymns with everybody, and have been told i just might get placed in charge for spring and summer term.

yes i remember that song RamZ, you remember Dr. Barrows version dont you. lol good times good times

Yes, I remember that version and about everytime we sing it it comes to mind. I miss the branch back in those days...

the branch was awesome back then

i know, whatever happened?

no clue, but how did we get into a discussion in the forum? we can always talk about this next time you are on MSN, when i am home lol.

so favorite Hymns, Scriptures. How bout speakers

I love Thomas S. Monson he has the best stories ever, and it makes it easy to realate to, he is awesome I love it.

James E Faust he is one of the most powerful speakers i have ever heard, its almost like it isnt him speaking, but the Holy Ghost itself is speaking, i love it, he is the one that gave the home teaching message for this month, and its my month to teach the lesson

those are my 2 absolute favorites and of course the prophet Gordan B. Hinckley, and the 12 Apostles are all good, but i like Monson and Faust the best

then of course, if it wasnt for John Bytheway, i would still be away from the church, when i fell away, it was his talks that my mom listened to anywhere we went in the car that got me to realize what i was missing out on, and how i could make it better

Nice!

Another hymn I like is:
Israel, Israel, God is Calling

I looove Monson too!

They say, he has an amazing memory, I know people who meet him a second time and he remembers meeting them the first time. That's pretty amazing when you think about how many people he meets.

Faust, is my step-grandma's cousin! He sealed my uncle and his wife. 😄

also, I like Perry.

I miss Hait, he was awsome! (and he was like, this cute little old man, the last time in he spoke in confrence, and was like, "Just so you know, I wasn't waving goodbye last time," cracked me up, I was sooo sad when he died!)

Bednar's first confrence address on the tender mercies of the lord was cool too, I think he'll be a good one.

So..... yeah...

i dont really know speakers that well...=\

that's ok.

oh, and Sherri Dew is pretty awsome as well. I like her book, No
Doubt About it.

I don't know speakers too well either.

Monson is my man though. He always has the best talks. I am also fond of Pres. Hinkley. I think I mostly like the way he talks as well as what he says. He kinda sounds like an old fashioned news announcer. lol.

Also...John Bytheway is my absolute favorite. He also helped me stay connected to the church when I fell and was a part of what brought me back. I got an email from Deseret Books saying that he's having some conferences soon for youth between 12-18. I think this is the first time I'm jealous of not being a teen. (If anyone wants details I'll be happy to post them) I think my two favorite John talks are "What Are You Carrying in Your Backpack?" and "Righteous Warriors: The War Chapters of the BoM"....though I'm not certain if that is really the title. I'm going by memory as I can't find the CD right at this moment.

🙂

John Bytheway!? I love John Bytheway, he's the awsomest. I have an old cassette. It's soo funny when he does impersonations, like on the back, it has priest quorm, hollywood style, he does all these old stars, and like, kermit.... It's hilarious!

Yeah, he came to our school once, and did the backpack one you were talking about.. I think it was that one anyway.

Yes!!! post the schedule thing!! (I'm a teenager 😛 )

Im not a youth anymore, but my friends in the church like to think so. Does that count?
