The kjv came from the latin bible give out by the catholci church, if anything it shoudl be more closely related to that. The standard catholic bible i use differentiates quite a bit form the kjv and the quoted section of isaiah in the bom. Plus the same mistake from the kjv that uses lucifer as the devil is made in this quote in the bom. Lucifer is not the devil that is a msiconception by many christians alike, why woudl god make a msitake like that in helpign j smith transalet the bom?
Mormons believe the KJV to be the most correct of current English versions of the Bible. Whether there is evidence for or against this idea means little, it is our belief. This does not mean that the text it was translated from is the most correct. It only means that the KJV is, in our belief, the most correct, and closest to what God was saying, English version. I would assume that, given this, an English quotes from Isaiah found in the Book of Mormon should most closely resemble the KJV.
Also, names are names. People use the name Lucifer in reference to Satan, the Devil. Given that they do, whether it came about through mistake or not, it is a name for the entity we are referring to. If Lucifer is used, it is used because it is a name that has been given to this entity. If the name is used, it is used so that we understand who is being spoken of.
If you wish to attack us, use something with more strength. Your arguments thus far can be applied to the Bible as well. Many Christians have turned away from Christianity as science has advanced and seemingly conflicted with the Bible. Many Christians have been ostracised for their scientific views. The Bible's accuracy and validity are attacked constantly, including in this forum. Unless those of you that are attacking Mormons can respond adequately to these attacks on Christianity and the Bible, your arguments that are the same are hollow.
