Is Superman the ultimate Superhero?

Spider-Man also defeats all of his enemies, he's not the ultimate superhero. I'm not saying always have him lose. I'm saying it's boring to see someone who wins TOO EASILY. Nobody wants to read about someone who, when they get into a fight, only needs one hit and that's it. I can see that with lower level superbaddies and common thugs, but with heavy hitters, it just doesn't make sense.

I somewhat agree with you. Supes is a badass guy, and I'm sure there aren't many that can hang with him (as my brother would say) but what if he has less superbaddies (the ones that count) than the rest of comicdom's superheroes? Spider-Man has like, what, 20-25? How many BIG guys that can fight with him for longer than two seconds, that actually makes Supes not hold back? 5-6? It wouldn't really be fair to judge by that. But, I will agree on the fact that he is a badass. Being the Ultimate superhero, however, doesn't consist of raw strength or how many baddies you can take out. ✅

The source.

He defines Ultimatism.

The Superhero's superhero.
The Icon.
Transcends his own outside-worn-underoos...now That's ultimate!

How hilarious, Mindship.

So then who do you think is the Ultimate Superhero then.

Superman is the ultimate Superhero.

Since my attempt at humor was nearly an abject failure, I will be more direct.
Superman is definitely the superhero's superhero, the inspiration, the legend among legends.
Superman is definitely The Icon for the genre...you can go anywhere in the civilized world, tie a towel around your neck, and everyone will know who you are referring to. No other hero has this degree of real-world power.
But ultimate costume? I dunt think so.

Sorry if I wasn't clear before, but I am definitely on you guys' side.

I can name more heroes out there that are many times more heroic than he is, but he's definately the most well known hero with those who are 18 or older. Most kids nowadays that I know now aren't fans of his though. Brainchild is right in saying that Spider-Man is much more well known, and much more heroic.

All I know is, no matter what, Superman is number 1 and always number 1 for the rest of eternity

Come on who wouldn't want to be Superman, or choose his powers over Spider-man? 😎

No because it is hard for people to feel thay can relate to him he is to godlike spiderman is the perfect superhero

Smallville doesn't have that problem.

I didnt know we were talking about that too and if you look at superman they write in the comics compare him to spidey who do you relate too

Well, I don't regularly read either one's comics.

I'd pick Spider-Man over Superman because no one should be able to have that much power over anything. Power corrupts people. It's a truth. Why do you think America has to have such a complex government system? No one person truly has more power than the other. I think Supreme Power is an excellent example of what can happen if someone with that much power can get really dangerous really fast. It's why Captain America and Iron Man lead the Avengers rather than Sentry or Hulk. Superman should have gone on a killing spree at this point, or something of the sort, because he shouldn't be so uncorruptable if he isn't a government pawn like Hyperion.

Well, there was a Superman story where Superman took over the world. Lois Lane was the only person that kept him from going crazy about the problems he hears in the world with super hearing. When she died, he took over the world. Lois from another world or something like that was the only one who could make Superman see the wrong he was doing.

And about Superman having too much power and not going crazy, thats what makes him Super. He knows that with great power comes great responsibility. He's afraid to go all out because he knows somebody will get hurt or killed. In an issue with Wonder Woman, he was still lamenting over not being able to help the people who died in the Imperiex War. Someone like that doesn't just go crazy because he has a lot of power.

Oh, I'd pick Superman's powers over SM's anyday. Flying and super speed beats anything Spiderman has to offer.

Spiderman is even more popular now because of the 2 movies. Let Superman come out twice and they'll jump the bandwagon. So what Brainchild said went without knowing.

Time will tell. I doubt Supes movies will surpass Spidey's(Supes just don't have enough personality to take Spidey's crown), but time will tell.
