USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

Err, no, literally, we were juat talking about it very recently. You took advantage of it just now as well.

EDIT- Oops- Alk

Oh, wow, dunno how I mixed THAT up...

They lack aircover completely.

Yup indeed.

Perhaps we should formulate a plan to take things out with the starfighters as the column emerges from the Jungle?

That is indeed their sole vulnerable point; once within the shield you cannot airstrike them.

Then we definitely need to capitalize on that. If we can't destroy all of the artillery, then we at least need to destroy a great deal of it. And maybe an AT-AT or two.

Cass, Rhys, you with me on this?

Oh, please do capitalize! I'd say send my ship as well, but wouldn't that be a tad recognizable? In any case, Zalandos is meant to fly it.

It is a Large Transport with defensive turrets and a proton torpedo launcher.

Anyways, Galahad would like to talk with Drakkon, if he may. There won't be time once the battle starts.

Feel free to ask him whatever you like.

There seems to be a shift in strategy from the Imperials. The three Squadrons enforcing the blockade are moving down into atmosphere.

Looks like we're expected. How many TIEs make up three Squadrons?

Galahad will enter Drakkon's chambers and inform him of the artillery, and the Rebel plan to bombard the pieces from the air before the Imperial Army enters the shield.

"Do you have anything you wish to add to that, Guildmaster?" Galahad asks. "If we can wipe out the artillery before they enter the shield, our chances of holding the City dramatically increase."

Thrity six.

Drakkon has no air forces available so he doubts he can help.

Eh, that's more than I was hoping for. Where did they come from?

The blockade, as I said. They've pulled of the fighters from it.

But in fact the situation has changed. One TIE Squadron has remained in space, and two fighters not of Imperial design are coming down with the two other squadrons.

That peels off 12 TIEs, that looks a little better for us...but what does that mean for the blockade? How much has it weakened by now?

Can we get readings on those two?

The blockade is manned by an almighty 12 TIE Fighters. It's pathetic; anyone could leave whenever they liked.

Light fighters, not a mass design.

Impressive blockade!

"Now, Drakkon...those TIE Fighters were pulled from the blockade over this City. Anyone can leave whenever they like. Anyone...including yourself. You could leave with us. Maybe not with me; I plan to join up with one of the Star Destroyers once I decide my time here is spent."

He appreciates the offer but having not really won over Drakkon it's too late to build the case for a resistance-in-exile now (great result though that would have been). He'll stay with his people.

Dammit. Our recon work must have made them realize that they had that squadron-shaped gap above them...

We could try to take out all the TIEs before the Army clears the jungle. Then, once they're out in the open, we can focus on the Army and not worry about air resistance.

You have an extremely short amount of time to form a plan.

Pressure helps people think...sometimes...

If Rhys's ship has turrets, Kyle and I could hop on board and help out as well.

Anyways...

1) We leave the City, shield drops while we leave.

2) We make it seem as if we're making to run the blockade and leave Lanzar, but instead drop down and come in behind the air cover. Might make the Imperials put some more of the air cover back into the blockade, follow us, whatever.

3) Boom bang blast, we take down the TIEs as fast as we can.

4) Once the TIEs are gone, we drop down and start hammering the artillery.

5) Artillery gone, we duck into the City and take on the stormtroopers as they approach.

Sound feasible, everyone?
