USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

Don't worry, I'll be there to great you. 😛

Do we have any rope of some sort?

I'm taking out Unit B this turn, so you might want to just shoot down TIEs for at least this round, or even fire back at Ulrand.

Next turn you can begin your bombing runs on Unit C and I'll cover your ass. 😛

Okay, Evading this turn, then... Kyle, shoot some TIEs.

(Meanie, destroy my big Dramatic Moment! 😛)

(Pretend that you're dramatic moment happens after I nuke Unit B 😛 )

(Well, if I can put in my 2 cents again, I say enough Evading, we might as well not be in the air if that's all we're doing. It doesn't help anyone and it spoils my shooting. Cass can cover someone, while Scarlet finishes B and we engage C. We don't have a lot of room to screw around, so let's go for the gold.)

(You guys are so going to get me killed. I swear, I'm forcing you to pay for a new ship if the Dawn goes down.)

Dogfighting the Imperial bastards!

The Squadron Leader and 11 of his TIES all exclusively Hunt the Lance. The rest go on Cass. They pretty much ignore Dawn.

I have no instructions from Cass! So he just Dogfights, which does not stop Vader Hunting him.

Lance is unescorted so all attacks go in, at +2 to hit.

Ulrand rolls 12, a hit for four. The Squadron does the rest, with good rolls. This is far too much; Tip of the Lance is shot down on its bomb run- Squadron Leader got the kill.

Sole Rebel consolation is that Cass brings down a TIE.

If you wanted to stay and make sure, guys, you should have made sure with both ships. Leaving only one attacker and having one guy just fly in circles meant they could concentrate their fire. With split attacks you would have been fine. Dawn should have stayed in the fight.

I will require a Fortune expediture to crash the ship away from the Imperial advance.

(*Beats head on desk.* Well, at least one of my plans would have worked... Assuming Scarlet spends a Fortune on the safe landing, cane the Dawn stop and pick her up before flying back? Cass covering us of course because we have to stick together to get back at the same time.)

Yes it can, but the TIEs will likely engage so that's a risk tol judge.

Something that has to always be remembered here is that you are up against other Players in this game, not a cuddly GM. They don't pull their punches and they jump on a presented chance like what just happened.

Twenty damage in one run? Damn.

I have Soft Landings, but I will still spend the Fortune point if it is absolutely required, or gets me even farther away from the Imperial Army.

As Scarlet goes in on her bombing run, she focuses on her target, one of the sole remaining artillery pieces of the second artillery unit.

Suddenly, her sensors go nuts as firepower from the TIE fighters, breaking off from their original pattern to hunt her, smashes into her shields, frying them to nothing. In an effort to evade the cannonade, Scarlet arcs her ship around, towards the City.

Sparks shoot up from the ship's controls as it whines in protest. "You've got to be jo..."

In mid-sentence, shots from the Squadron Leader tear into the port-side wing and engine, igniting them and sending the Lance spiralling wildly out of control towards the ground.

"No!" Scarlet cries out. "I won't lose my father's ship!"

Knowing that it won't be needed for anything else, Scarlet converts all power from the shields, weapons systems, and life support into the engines in an attempt to stabilize the ship and crash-land it in a state that will keep both her and the ship in one piece.

Okay, I thought I was talked into being in the fight... or do you mean gone along with Scarlet on the run?

Guys, I am severely pissed. As a PT Darkie, I know when it's a good idea to simply bail. I told everyone we needed to leave right away.

Reason is telling me to get safely back to the city and then save Scarlet from inside, but... Ush, could we go down and pick her up with Cass covering and Kyle still able to fire at TIEs?

She might be able to run back to the City, if she crashes far enough away. Eerin can meet her on the wall.

"Oh dear," the Duchess says, watching the sensor display. "We're another ship down, Galahad. Call them back!"

"I can't do that. One, if my voice is heard over the comm and intercepted by Imperials, I will be found out. Two, they knew the risks; they know them well enough that when a ship goes down, they should get out of there. It was a noble idea to finish off the artillery, but it can't happen now."

Galahad turns back to the sensors.

(We were talking you into one last bombing run on the way out. You posted to dogfight. We all knw we were screwed if we stayed long, but we also knew, (I thought), that we really needed one last shot at the artillery to help us defend the city. Simple miscommunication, just like many times before. Let's pick up Scarlett, I already asked, Ush already said we could. Then we get back and do what we can. Hopefully, we can work together better in the next Episode. At least the whole thing really fit our characters! 😛 )

"Scarlet, nooo!"

The Dawn swings around and screams after the smoking Lance. (I assume an Escape is required?)

"Cass, do what you can to cover us. Kyle, shoot any TIEs annoying enough to follow us. If Lady Luck is with us, we'll be able to get Scarlet and make it away safely, but I'm not counting on her any more. My gut instinct says we'll be crashing right alongside the Lance, but there you go."

What would happen if Scarlet crashed through the shield? Beat up as it is, would the Lance even be affected, or would the shield actually cause it to blow up or something?

"I got any TIEs that get close. And I'm not worried about crashing in the jungle, I have some experience with that!"

I'm gonna cover the dawn this turn....

Soft Landings is REALLY helpful; I'll not make you make any roll to land ok, but the fortune expenditure is to stop you being captured immediately.

It was a good TIE roll. It was unlucky, yes, but with the Imperials basically Escorting the AT-STs, it means they concentrated a heck of a lot of firepower on one attacker. Dawn became almost irrelevant to the outcome of the fight.

The city is very close; escpaing is dead simple as they would be idiots to pursue and be caught in the field. Incidentally, crashing through the shield will more or less just mean you impact on it. Boom.

I asked because I was hoping we were all fortunate enough that we could catch up and have the City drop the shield for all three of us to pass through. Unlikely, I know, but if Fortune could help that, I think some of us are willing to spend.

Lance is a shot down ship. It's going down inside the next few seconds, You cannot direct it that well.
