USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

"So you are looking to make me a martyr in the name of your cause? I see. You say my world is doomed, so I should at least perish in a way that looks good for those you represent. I would be interested to know why you would expect me to see you as any better than the Empire, wanting to make use of my world so."

((Hope nobody objects to me expressing my opinion in full... Please, just bear with me on this as it may take a bit to both write and read!))

"I believe I may be 'o some use 'ere..." Ala'ii spoke up, a look of detirmination and wisdom suddenly apearing, "Consider 'istory long past, long ago during the ancient war against the enemy known as the Mandalorians, the Old Republic issued them a migh'ee defeat similar to what awaits you at tha' 'ands of da Empire. They gathered their peoples afterwards to form an even stronga' figh'ing force than what they offered before..."

She took a small breath before pressing on, "They, as you do, your lor'ship, believed in honor for their people and a way to imprint their names on tha' pages of 'istory by surviving and returning to crush those that woulda' crushed dem! If you stand, it's as we say, you will gain nothing but the death of both your people in body and in name, by far the worst defeat one could ask for. When, in thir'ee years or so someone asks, 'What's an Osokan' they will be answered with, 'I 'ave no idea...', thus, your people will be lost foreva'. Unless you implant a strategy within your planet's defense that involves you fightin' them off fiercely, whilst surviving for another day as so you can rally and rise over them in da future..."

"I don't presume to know what your people believe in, but I'm sure that not one species in da known want's to be erased from da galaxy in one, swift sweep; one attack that completely decimated the entire population without a single thought as to their opinions..."

Ala'ii took another deep breath before stating her last response, "I know this may be alot ta' consider, and that it may sound like the same thin' over and over. What we offer you, is the chance to show the galaxy that the Osokan peoples are not ones to lie down and wait for the end, to show dat dey are more that willing ta prove that they are a formidable race in both combat, and survival..."

((P.S. the hardest part is putting my accent in words, it may not be the best but I typed this in just fifteen minutes... 😛))

"Osokans already have a galactic reputation. Again, I am not looking to die gloriously just to help your cause, nor am I at all certain why it makes any difference to you how we die or not. And the more you tell me that this fight is hopeless, and the more clear it becomes that you don't have the power to alter that, the more I am inclined to ignore your warnings and try and deal with the Empire. It's been done before; it may work again- it certainly looks more likely to be successful than any proposition you make.

"I don't want a glorious death. I don't want to go down in legend as a mere symbol. If we are dead, I care not how it goes from there; the opinions of others mean very little to me. Dead is dead. Your offer for us to die simply to tease the memories of future generations is, oddly enough, little compensation against the idea of genocide. After all, it's easy to try and make that look good when it is not your race on the line. I'm not even sure I believe you.

"Mandalorians were warriors. We are not- we are Hunters. Warriors are interested in glory and honour and all the rest. Hunters want one thing only- the kill. if you got the kill by your own skills, then that is all the glory you need. Stalk silently. Attack from behind. Attack in groups. Take down your target as soon as possible. That is the way.

"That is what we believe in. Victory. I don't care how it gets done, that's what my people want, and it is what I want. So there is only one thing I am interested in from you. Can you offer me a chance of victory? By any means?"

((From now on, just pretend the accent, too much hassle to edit each sentence 😛))

"I am sorry if I misinterpreted your beliefs, but we can offer you a victory of sorts; to withdraw with minimal casualties only to return and surprise attack them."

((Lightbulb just popped over my head 😄))

"Wait... what if you were to abandon the planet before they arrived, keep the shield active so they think the city is inhabited, and return shortly whilst they search endlessly for your people, You said your self; Stalk silently. Attack from behind. Attack in groups. Take down your target as soon as possible. That is the way. I mean not to mock you, but if YOU become the hunters and attack them whilst they are focussed on useless pursuits, you could win by using your natural hunter's talents, only in space..."

((I hope this is good...))

"It will offer you a far greater chance of victory if you are not reduced to defending the city, as the Imperials are masters of planetary sieges. A counter-attack offers the element of surprise, regardless of the size of force and they will be weakened and out-manned if all their troops are on the planet as you attack!"

Aliies I'm not sure I am getting this right, but are you taking about space warfare? osokans vs the imperial fleet?

surprise attacks provide far greater chance than faring against Imperials in siege, their tactics can be very single minded...

Oh, that's if the Osokans have ships... whoops..........................................😛

There goes that idea!

I like the surprise attack idea, but I doubt the osokans have a fleet worth a damn

((Wait, you may have something, Aliies. Many thanks, I'll do my best from here.))

Rhys steps forward, adopting a humble attitude. "Your Lordship, my comrade is confused, but she has hit upon a possible plan. What if you were to leave the city before the Imperials came? Surely with your intelligence network you could find out where the Imperial force means to land. They land, and then just when they get underway, your forces attack from behind. They will be taken by surprise, and in their confusion the attack will be quick and decisive, unlike the prolonged siege that will surely take place if your Osokans stay in this city."

"Intelligence network? Did you forget where you are? This is no dandified core world. And obviously you have no idea of praticalities. My entire planet is under threat. Just to ewvacuate this city alone would take days. And where would they go? Into the jungle? Are you prepared to escort them in there? Or do you mean into space? I am sure the Imperials will simply watch this endless stream of ships go by and do nothing.

"Evacuating the whole planet would take weeks or more. In the meantime, they would destroy our cities, our infrastructure, our defences. When we tried to attack them, we would have no mobility, no attack craft, whilat there forces are highly mobile with air and space cover. We wouldn't even land.

"I have THOUGHT about all this. Do you think I have not? I have considered all tactical options. Defending this city is about the only thing I can do. It brings the circumstances onto our side- they cannot use their air superiority until the generator is destroyed, and in the streets their firepower will be greatly reduced. I am out of alternatives. Unless you can offer me something new- which you clearly cannot."

Why don't we just offer our help with that guys?

Because then he'll go back to saying that if you can't beat the Imperials, what exactly is the point?

"So what do you want with this? What is the point of dying if you have no cause or reason to, Drakkon?"

"What else am I to do? I shall do the best I can. I don't see any point in discussing that. All we can talk about is what you can do for me."

(This is quite a dilemma...)

I am pretty sure you guys had some sort of plan before you arrived on this planet and it did not involve telling Drakkon that you could wipe out the Imperial army for him.

So as tpt suggested, it would be a good idea to bring yourselves back to spec on what your actual purpose here is.

Tsk tsk, silly Rebels.

BUT NO-ONE LISTENS TO ME!!!
God damn it!

Tsk Tsk, Fething Imperialist, if you read our thread then you are destroying the whole point in the game, we don't know what you're up to because WE have the decency to avoid your thread...

AND, if you even are able to read this then that means you shouldn't be playing in the game!

I rest my case...

Well we suck anyway.
THis is going quickly to shit, simply because you have no idea what the hell diplomacy is, and how to actually TALK TO SOMEONE, without sounding like total retards or dipshits of course.
We are THIS close to f*cking up the entire mission RIGHT HERE. So stop dicking around and think.

What do we want to accomplish? A few things, We need help. We're not taking on all the Imps ourselves. Thats called suicide. And we need information, and we need Freedom to move about.

How can we accomplish this? By NOT being bearers of doom for one. Lets try NOT telling him that he's gonna die....

We need to get this right. I'm not gonna let Rex and them beat us at this shit. My ego is too big for that...
