USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

Well that means I'm not gonna be a part of the blockade "run," which means only one smugglers' ship.

I am a tiny bit fuzzy about how 'escorting' the freighters in actually improves the situation.

ehh
Fine, I won't I'll go with the Blocade run team.

(yea I was just thinking that you make the Star Destroyers come at you, you bascially go "Oh shit!' and turn and run.

There is a problem with your idea which I think I should point out.

The Imperials might be waiting for this next shipment, and with three ships out there they have hundreds of TIE fighters. They can cover quite a few bases.

(Ush, under your handle you need to change Paladin to Wet Blanket. We'll have to think about this I guess.)

Ideally you'd be up against an Imperial Squadron Leader for this deal, but the only one we had has stopped playing, so this is a bit more like traditional RPing here, 'against' me. That being the case, I'll advise you as appropriate rather than you have think I booby trapped you or anything.

That leads to another problem. With three SDs and all those TIEs, the Imps have no real reason to send more than one SD after our bait, or really even one at all. Our faked run could draw a few TIEs, but we have no assurance we'd be importance enough for a SD.

I assume that the SDs are holding a position above the city, Ush? Would it be possible to send an easily incercepted transmission giving the coordinates of the freighters' entry point as somewhere on the other side of the planet? Would that even be worthwhile?

No, Deviator is above the city; the ships are covering one third of the surface each.

I take it that blowing up TIE fighters would be bad.

Any overt strike against the Imperials is more or less out the question until the invasion starts, else you will pre-empt it.

Unless we want to hide in the jungle for the remainder of the game until the invasion, blowing up TIEs would be bad.

How about just buzzing the Deviator? Moving into attack speed and zipping around that big old SD without shooting? Can they legally shoot us down, then?

Yes.

They'll say they thought it was an attack. You don't trust an Imperial Captain to hold his trigger finger.

Good point. But trying to break through the blockade wouldn't be big enough a distraction, since they're most likely waiting for the second shipment. Drat.

What if we could rally up more ships?

Maybe if you had built up a relationship with the other pilots around here, but it is a tad late if you want this done quickly, which you do.

The distraction idea is much much much harder now the Imperials are actually planning this.

Are they allowed to shoot at civilian protestors?

They are 'allowed' to do anything.

It must be said, apparently organised protest against the Empire is the kind of thing that easily turns to the Empire's advantage.

Shit.

We CAN'T let the Imperials get those weapons. That means less Osokan soldiers for us when the time comes.

So protesting is out the window.

Is there any way Galahad and Andran could haggle it so that the second shipment is allowed through unharmed?

That depends on how much the Imperials have to enforce a blockade.

But in order to save you guys time, I will preview and tell you that they got the genuine cargo manifest, so even if you bring the blockade down it is still going to be up at the time the freighters come, so unless you managae to spctacularly deceive everyone about what is on the ships, and what they are for (unlikely) then no, the bloackade will have to be run.

Bugger.
