Ah well, here is the issue, Coll- those artillery pieces are getting on a bit. They hit hard enough but they are not pixel accurate and they will be firing blind. It could take a fair while to take out the generator.
Portable shielding, even if you had any, would just be a circular problem, because then the question is how you protect the men whilst they are trying to put that up.
