"Leaving the Atmosphere."

Thrak sighed and in a voice of mock grief stated, "Well then I expect to be mourning quite a few deaths after the day is up."

"That's the spirit, pilot," General Coll replies. "As long as they are not your own men, of course."

You're starting to get a trace now.

About half a dozen ships. They are saying in atmosphere for now, moving rapidly northwards towards the pole.

"Ulrand, I suggest you prepare to Intercept."

Ush. Who's sphere of influence would they be in, at the Pole?

Well, there's the rub- you are taking a third of the planet each, but based at the equator. The pole is at a point of intersection.

It is also about as far from your ship as they could get.

Still, you are in charge of the blockade.

So, I can move in to Interdict their flight. Could I send the Second NPC SD after them? (I can't recall that Captain's name)

You are in charge of the blockade, but no-one but that ship's Captain can order a ship.

You aren't facing the Pole; you'd have to turn your ship.

Trebeis will order the Deviator To Turn and Go to full throttle towards the Runners. Firing shall commence the instant we are within the Turbo-Laser's maximum Firing Range.

"ULRAND. I want those Runners stopped. NOW. Or it is YOU that we will be firing our Turbo-Lasers upon!" The Captain Roared, large Veins protruding from his neck and Forehead. Storming from his position by the General, to his spot upon the Command Center.

They are making an atmospheric exit now.

There are eight of them, all either large fighters or small freighters. Fast. They are making for optimum orbital escape. They'll be seconds from exit point by the time you turn.

"Yes, sir."

With this, Thrak has the closest TIEs to the pole surround the ships, and while they begin firing, he orders for the rest of the squadron to fly as quickly as they can to the pole, and join in the fight.

The TIEs report that sensors show that the ships all have high-power engines and are shielded.

The trajectory is very difficult. They cannot get in front of them, and closing in behind will take too long. They have to make a sideways approach and deflection shoot, and the shields will hold that fire.

Well, is that all the TIEs can do? And will it be enough to weaken the shield so that the Deviator 's Turbo-Lasers can destroy them in the 'seconds' that she'll have?

That's how long before she turns. Deviator won't make it to the fight.

They're going to get through.

Well, would it be better not to fire at all?

It won't make a great deal of difference.

Well, Ulrand will go ahead and order the pilots to fire, it looks better than letting them go unscathed.

I'm assuming they are going to jump into Hyperspace. Trebeis will order an attempt made to locate their Destination.

You can work out what is on a straighty line trajectory from the way they go.

Trebeis will order their jump position noted, so that possible exits may be Calculated.
