Rylis's ship will be a Small Trader (as I feel Fighter will be too small) with Payload bonus.

Okay, so the Rebels might have noticed our artillery, and they are likely to try to do something about it. We must protect it at all costs, will player Commanders be involved in securing its deployment, in order to react quickly to any danger?

I think it's probably fairly a given that they've spotted the artillery. I don't think they're exactly blind.

If we have 2 Stormtroopers in every company with rocket launchers, and 2 with sniper rifles.....I calculated it to be 1200 in entire army, plus there are likely diffrent kinds of heavy weapons used. I think that their job would be to provide covering fire for artillery against opponents on the walls, while AT-ST form a protective wall around artillery, as Coll ordered.

And Ulrand, Commisar still wants you to provide air-cover.

Nidar will warn you of something there, Melkor.

If Ulrand goes down, anyone could escape that planet.

Hmm, but if someone tries to escape from the city and Ulrand`s force is positioned over this area, wouldn`t they be in good position to go after anyone escaping from there?

Also, I thought that we don`t have enough force for effective blockade anyway. And I do not believe that Rebels will try escaping until they know battle is lost, they are too stubborn for this. Neither will Drakkon.

So Commisar would like Ulrand to be there until the generator is destroyed, than he can return. Does it sound reasonable to Nidar?

On the other hand, is there time for Rebels to do anything at this point? Using their ships during the battle would mean lowering the shield, which would help the Empire side.....

Well, that's a damn easy distraction to blow your air cover then. Besides, logically speaking you canot escape the fact that if he moves way from the blockade he is in a much weaker position to prevent escape.

The Rebels could get Drakkon off the planet any time they like if there are no covering fighters.

The final issue is that Vader ordered Ulrand to do what he is doing now.

Okay, at least he should provide cover until Army is deployed around the city and for Arvus/Rylis to safely land as well.

My point that they cannot lower the shield later is valid, so further aircover won`t be needed?

How many squadrons Ulrand has now under his command? Not enough to split?

Eh...if Vader ordered it, I wouldn't contradict it. He'd be royally pissed at you. He seems to be planning something for the TIE Fighters, I wouldn't mess with the matter.

But if my predictions are right, there will no problem, because what matters in Empire are results, I think.

If someone was born for greatness, like Esgabath, he has to take gambles sometimes, right? 😉

Ush, I cannot pretend that it was Nidar`s idea later? Propably not, as Nidar is no fool in such games.

The results of Drakkon and the Rebels simply flying away are pretty nasty, I'd believe...

Do you really think they would fly away at this point? Drakkon will not abandom his people like this.

Okay, perhaps I should not insist and have satisfaction when it turns up that I was right. After all it is Nidar`s fault that he didn`t even ask Vader what are his plans for fighters under his command. And if Rebels do something to artillery it will be mostly Coll`s problem.

What does Ulrand think? How quickly can I contact Vader?

On his own, no, he probably wouldn't. But the coup the Rebels might get from shippinh gim off and have him lead resistance efforts against the Empire is large- they may talk him into it.

Or they could gain other favours by saving certain important or valued people- faily and the like.

As long as Ulrand has someone to place the blame on, he will follow the Commissar's orders to cover the assault, if that is his wish.

Personally, he wants to get in on some of the action by providing air support, but the rational side of him realizes Vader probably knows what he's doing more than Esgabeth does, and he could actually see more battle in space, attacking any fleeing rebel ships.

Okay, but the possibility of Rebels using their air advantage remains a threat only before the battle begins, because later they cannot lower the shield. And it is less than an hour now till it happens. Also, as it was said the Rebels lack of reaction after I declared war indicates their failure with Drakkon.

Okay, can I very quickly ask Vader for permission, explaining my reasoning? I remember that Coll asked him for aircover, perhaps he has considered this issue? I don`t think that Vader refusing me will destroy my career at this point. And someone should have asked Vader about his plans long ago- I can always imply that Nidar didn`t have enough guts.

Vader tells you to do as you see fit.

Okay, I will ask Ulrand to provide cover for the army`s final aproach.

Arvus will fly down with Ulrand. He thinks it sounds like fun, and he'll duck out of it and land when the Army clears the jungle.

And thus the squadron(s)* will descend to the airspace above the army.

*I'm unsure if Vader took two squadrons, or if I still have three. If I only have one, then it will protect the army's assault. Otherwise, I will leave one squad in space, just in case.

(Ooh, that rhymed.)

I think we have a Darkie in the making...

Arvus will fly down with Ulrand. Lyle, you would probably be more at home on Rylis's ship; there's room on it, not on the Needle.

"Thanks for the escort," Arvus jokingly says to Ulrand.

You have three available, Ulrand.

Rylis will also fly down with Arvus and Ulrand, and Lyle can come on her ship...so long as he doesn't touch anything 😛
