USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Imperial Thread

Grrrr. I really want to try and blow the gate and/or the generator with my torpedoes.

Well, fine. Rylis will be landing in the jungle. But if it's at all possible for her to fly back up above the canopy and fire her torpedoes while the shield is down and the Rebels are re-entering the city, I want to do it. Because at that point, it's not like they can really turn around and try and engage us...

It will only be down for a few seconds, I am afraid.

Damnit...

Well there goes my fun idea of making busting into the city easier for the army while letting me destroy stuff.

Then I suppose we're simply landing in the jungle and as close to the edge of it as we can without making ourselves targets.

Ok, Rebels are moving in for a surface attack as the army clears the jungle.

The following was just posted in the Rebel thread; just take it from the other point of view to them.

---

That being the case, there are three units covering the artillery.

First is the Stormtroopers. But personal blaster fire is VERY ineffectual aginst ship shields, and stuff like the E-Web blasters are not designed for aerial targets. Not since the Clone Wars have troopers been routinely equipped with anti-air stuff.

Secondly is the AT-ATs. Their guns are very powerful and could damage you. But again, they are not designed for anti-air use- they are slow tracking. If you actually atttack an AT-AT, you have to fly at it and it can get a bead on you. Other than that, their fire will be ineffectual.

This leaves the AT-STs, which they have moved up to cover the artillery. These have reasonably powerful guns and are fast tracking- and there are enough of them to cover all angles (except vertically above, but as you aren't in atmospheric craft you are not built for dive-bombing, which would be more like dive-suiciding)

They will be your main threat. Not a great threat, but a torpedo run on the artillery (the most effective way to damage it) requires a straight run whilst you targeting computer locks on.

Strategically speaking, there are three units of artillery. Successful bomb runs will cause damage based on your payload rating. Enough such successful bomb runs will knock out one of those units, not only just for now but also for the main battle to come.

Coll grits his teeth, now less amused and more annoyed.

"All AT-ST units, take down those incoming fighter craft! Focus on the ships making bombing runs. Scrap them!"

They're coming in very fast...

Perhaps we should have the AT-AT fire as well they may not be the best but concentrated firepower is better than sporadic fire.

Well, I am saying that each artillery unit is covered by the equivalent of six skill seven AT-ATs, plus an additional skill seven unit representing the stormtroopers, which cannot reasomnably be destroyed.

The AT-STs get -2 firing on the Light Fighter, -1 firing on the fighter and no penalty firing on the trader. The Troopers get no penalty against anything.

So Troopers can just fire even if it doesn't matter much.

What direction are the aircraft coming from? They would have to come in from the front right so that they are still in the firing path of the AT-ATs right?

Coll orders all fire to be directed at the small trader.

Janthis hears the order and tells his men to open fire. Janthis will also fire at the small trader.

Coll has his own ship, cannot it help? Rylis, Arvus, no way to distract them?

Commisar looks at the situation irritiated.- "So they are attacking ground forces exactly as I predicted, though no one thought they would dare to threaten our Star Destroyers. They must pay for it!" -He also summons his Aide.

"Sareitha, I need you to check if we have anything concerning those ships in our Records. I need to supervise the battle situation, and you are better at dealing with databases anyway. If we can connect those ships with those scum around Galahad, it would be of great help."

My ship is not with the Army. It is at the landing site. That's how I got to the planet in the first place...

Besides, I'm a terrible pilot.

Aren`t you actually a better pilot than Rylis and Arvus?

Actually he is better than both of them

(Actually, my second character idea after Commisar was a Slaver, and he would have a Pirate Ally. It would be of great help now.)

Better pilot than us but still nothing on those attacking us...

Face it, we're not suicidal 😛 though I still REALLY wish my idea was feasible.

You would have to get from the jungle to try your idea, Rylis.

Ush, it's not possible for Jaiden to enter one of the AT-ST's and pilot it himself, is it? His dexterixity is preety big and that could help.

Nah, it really needs the skill.
