"Shoot down the trader!" Coll says, repeating his order for the AT-STs to focus their firepower.

Arvus rolls his eyes at the Commissar's transmission, muttering "Suspicions," under his breath.

"Rebels are formidable opponents," Arvus concedes, kicking back in his seat, his bowcaster on his lap. "You never know when they're going to decide when they want to stop being amateurs. It's usually when explosions are needed."

"Never wise to underestimate an adversary...and really? This situation wouldn't exist if the General hadn't done just that. If the army had air cover, we wouldn't be hiding down here because the Rebels wouldn't have been foolish enough to try an attack." Rylis replies. "For now though, we should just keep an eye out and make sure nothing attacks the ships."

The pay is too good for Arvus to turn on you. Take away his paychecks and he might think twice. Put him in a suicidal position and he will definitely rethink the deal.

(heh, same. In fact pretty much the only reason Rylis works for the Empire is because of the pay...😛)

"Not my problem," Arvus says. "If the Imperial Army wants to go about screwing itself over...well, as long as I'm not dead as a result, I see no problem with it. They can still climb the walls if their artillery goes to hell."

"We'll have trouble getting into the city, though. Their mistakes effect us as well."

Well Arvus, remember that Empire demands results for those huge sums of money you get, for example ability to counter Rebels. I want Drakkon in cage so I can give something to Emperor in case the assault on the city will result in heavy losses and delay of victory, as it now seems possible. And this is not a risk-free mission.

Well, you didn't hire me to not do risky things...

"Yeah, well, I figured you could give me a ride on your jetpack of doom."

"I think," Lyle says, "You two should rethink your plans. I'll personally ensure you get a bonus for this."

Oh, they will get a bonus, this is true......

long live heroes for money!

"Rethink them how?" Arvus asks. "Unless you've got some amazing plan to make us better pilots, you're out of luck until the Army gets through that shield."

(Well, my idea was for you to distract them, not fight them.)

(Same difference! If we go annoy them, they will blow us up.)

(You may escape or hide in jungle again. Perhaps Vader will decide to attack them as well. He was supposed to be somewhere close and may be annoyed by this.)

(That requires getting away from them, but they've got Pilot Tricks with which they can out-maneuver us. And Vader's not going to step in; he'll just step in later and kill someone for their stupidity. There's nothing Arvus and Rylis can do to help this situation.)

(Ush, he is objectively right? Okay then, I shut up.)

Militarily speaking, engaging is always easier than disengaging,

"I concede the point. On to other matters, then."

Like, when do we plan on leaving the ships? When the army has gotten into the city, or before?

When the Rebels leave. I don't intend to keep our ships parked in the jungle...

Perhaps you can land in the city after the shield is destroyed? It may be easier to spot Drakkon from the air. I hope that Rebels won`t have air superiority at this point.

Unless we either shoot down a couple of their ships (not happening) or get some squadrons from Vader (also not likely to happen), the Rebels are most likely going to continue to have superiority over us in that aspect. Don't forget the fact that there's anti-air defenses in the city as well.

Plus I'd just simply rather not land my ship where someone else could get at it easily. Which would be the case if we were to land in the city.

Hey, I assume that Vader will use those ships before the battle is finished. What else he can do with them?

But it sounds reasonable to not leave ships in the middle of the fight, I agree.
