Meh, that's just to cover the gap between their respective levels of power. Slugging it out is right up Hulks alley. Having Thor pepper him with lightning isn't so much.

I'd have liked for Thor to hold out longer in pure hand to hand but oh well, Hulk caught him slipping.

Yeah, it's sad that historically in their fights, Hulk has been tactically superior. Always pressing the advantage, distracting Thor with civilian safety and trying to separate him from the hammer etc.

Which is pretty sad considering that Hulk is a functional retard and Thor has a couple of millennia worth of experience on him.

Welcome to Marvel Comics 🙂

Well I'd say that most of the time they are pretty close in power.

Its only occasionally that Hulk is waaaaay more powerful.

That's more true for strength really.

In strength maybe...

Highfather looks pretty badass.

He should just get it on with Hera.. Bahahaha!

Murder.

Wasn't murder. At least, not by Superman.

Slap.

I doubt Dr. Light is even dead, tbh.

Which is made all the more funnier by the fact that She-Hulk was able to beat the much stronger Abomination due to her superior h2h skills.

Apparently, eastern martial arts are always superior to thousands of years worth combat training in comics. 😂

Pillar.

Not really true. We've seen Sif using skill effectively against Masterson, Valkyrie beat Hulk using pressure points, Hercules has taken on Elektra, Thor has kept up with Captain America, Wonder Woman and Orion have both shown to be incredibly potent hand to hand warriors etc.

The major difference is that Thor approaches the Hulk with almost nothing but pure strength and power. Can't really blame the writers, either Thor's a brute or he has to be noticeably weaker then Hulk (Such as when Hercules was getting wrecked but was hanging in due to skill) for their to be a fight. Otherwise it's going to be a domination, and Hulk isn't a throwaway villain like Abomination. As it stands, pressure points would probably not even work against the Hulk anymore tbh and I like Thor being an elite strong man.

Which is spectacularly retarded imo, considering that Thor, his occasional ego/arrogance, not withstanding, has far more experience in h2h combat than anybody else, except for immortals such as Hercules. He should always dominate a dumb brute like Hulk in a straight-up fight.

I never really got why writers had to conveniently shut down his fighting skill just to make it a competitive fight for the Hulk.

Writers conveniently shut down Thor's power all the time man. It's just something you learn to deal with.

He's nearly as versatile as Surfer, practically as strong Superman, arguably as skilled as Wonder Woman and has arguably the greatest damage soak around barring healing factors. If you start getting upset because Thor's not being written correctly, you'd walk around like World Breaker Hulk.
