Because women in comics are oversexualized with often times obscene proportions. Comic book artists got called out on it and toned it down. Whereas male bodies are drawn as the epitome of fighting physical perfection, women are little more than porn stars.

"Fighting physical perfection"?

Now when you're mocked for these kind of comments it is supposedly the result of male chauvinism and misplaced nostalgia.

No one CLOSE to being a real fighter could maintain the average superhero physique coupled with the displays of speed and stamina that routinely take place.

You have to suspend your disbelief to enjoy heroic fiction and the same is called for with the "Idealized" presentation of heroines in comics.

I mean you never see Batman with a dad belly, what reason under the Sun should we expect female superheroes to have less than statuesque figures if Male superheroes look like Greek gods 90 percent of the time?

To be fair, I do think that the female superhero body has a lot more room for variety than the male one.

I mean, with men, there's what, three or four main ones? With women you can do far more, and have more variety.

The pertinent question here is why is Carol suddenly regressing sexually to resemble a pre-pubescent male?

Because Marvel listened to people that don't like sex or femininity, and now big, bad Disney is coming down on them like the Hulk in a bad mood.

Yup.

Oh god, that is bad. I could live with the fact that she cut her hair and started wearing an outfit that I could legitimately see a male character wearing; but making her shoulders and face look like a man's as well as flattening her boobs to the point where here chest looks like a piece of cardboard? They crossed the line.

Lol look at what was just uploaded... YouTube video

Did they actually cast her yet? I'm affraid they'll get someone like Cris Cyborg to play her in the MCU since that's what comicbooks are going for these days.

Actress named Brie Larsen was cast.

She's alright I guess.
