"Alright, I'm sorry..." Jim said that thought inside him wanted to burst out, after alll he did feel like he was going to far. "But, you better not lose my trust in the future" Jim was now giving Shadow a chance.

"If I don't have to see those people anytime soon, I'll be fine. What happened in the past is the past. I can't go thinking about revenge at a time like this. What are we going to do about the MPs that are in this town," Eli asked, trying to change the subject.

Karen woke up gasping for air and imediantly started coughing. Just a dream... she told her self as she slowly stopped coughing. But it wasn't a dream, she knew very well that it was a memory. She sat there on the edge of the bed, staring at the floor.

"You trust me now?" Shadow asked confused, "That doesn't really matter, the question should be do I trust you. You shot Zack, then you shot me, then you tried to escape. So I don't think it's my loyalty that should be called into question"

"You ok Karen?"

Justice looked over at Eli"MP's? this town is dead. unless you would have us look around. Or go into sleeper cells"

"Thats what makes you leader..." Jim said.

"I'm fine." Karen replied, her head still in deep thought.

"Look. The past never lies. If I saw MPs from yesterday, then they're here. It's just a matter of where they're at."

"I believe you, Eli," Talia said. I just hope they don't know where we're at. I won't go back to that camp for anything in the world."

"Right..." Shadow said, "Why don't you go back to the flats, get some rest. I'm going to go and check out the rest of this town, see if I can find anything interesting."

"Yes master." Jim said rolling his eyes and walked away. He wondered why Shadow wanted to inspect the town alone.

Shadow watched Jim leave then checked the alleyway behind himself, there was no-one there. He walked out into the main street and walked away from the flat towards the centre of the town.

Karen left the building telling the others that she was gonna take a walk. She was still thinking about the dream, she felt scared that she wasn't even real in the first place. She walked along the streets and heard several people talking. She turned the corner towards the voice, there were five MPs standing there by a van. She gasped, wrong thing to do, for they heard her.
"Mutant!" One of them yelled and started shooting, she screamed as she sharply turned back around the corner.

Shadow heard the scream, he turned running down towards the sound. He turned an alleyway towards it, another dead end. He slowed down, looking at the wall. He knew the voice, "****" He swore, he ran towards the wall and phased through it.

The pain hit as soon as he ran out the other side of the alley, he saw Karen and the MP's, the pain shot through his chest, he couldn't move as he stumbled to the floor and passed out, blood dripping from his nose.

Karen spotted Shadow phase through the wall and then pass out.
"NO!" Karen screamed as she turned to face the MPs and started to control a puddle of water that was on the street. Nothing happened. She growled and took a step back.
"I may not be able to control water, but I can still shape-shift!" She felt herself getting angry, yet she still was scared. She turned into Shadow, wanting to use his phase, but as she headed for the wall and held her breath, she did not go through. OW! What the heck..so much for that... Karen thought as she fell to the ground, from hitting the wall. She stood back up and noticed herself changing back to herself, yet she wasn't doing it on purpose.

Two of the MP's ran to Shadow, they grabbed his arms and dragged him to the van. "Quick, grab the other one before anyone else shows up. Her powers are out. Go!" The other three ran over to Karen and grabbed her, dragging her to the van, The van shot off back towards the camp.

Karen couldn't believe her powers weren't corruperating with her. She kicked at one of the MPs as they grabbed her and shoved her in the van.

Shadow lay unconcious between two of the MP, they shoved him onto the floor of the van, "Dirty scum!" Sone said, spitting on him.

"You are the dirty scum!" Karen yelled as she attempted to jump after the MP, but she was held back by an MP that had dragged her to the van.

"We're here" came a voice, two of the MP's grabbed shadow and dragged him down to a corridor, they threw him into one of the cells, an electrical hum came from the bars. They closed the doors behind him and indicated the cell opposite to put Karen into. "We made some improvements mutant, these cell walls nullify all powers, we're not letting anyone else escape this time. Bob, call the doc, get her down here so she can do those experiments on them."

Karen sat down in a corner of the cell shaking. She was mad at herself for she was unable to use her powers and she knew they didn't shoot her.

A tall woman in a labcoat came down the corridor, she stopped at Shadow's cell. She bent down and called out "Ace" Another woman in the cell dropped down from the top bunk and looked at Shadow before going to the cell, "He's your son? He's cute." "Here," The woman outside slipped Ace a syringe, "inject him, or else he'll die. Alice, please take care of him for me." The woman stood up and looked at Karen, She looked around and put her finger to her lips, before walking off down the corridor.

Ace heaved Shadow over to the bed, she stuck the syringe in his arm and injected him with the medecine inside. She looked down at his face and kissed him gently on the lips.
