Jesus Resurrection was physical.

People. Stay calm. Stay CALM! Do not, I repeat, do not PANIC! It would appear we have a schism in the religion forum.

No, but I do affirm that all CHRISTIANS are sons or children of light.

Luke 16:8
So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light .

John 12:36
While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.

1 Thessalonians 5:5
You are all sons of light and sons of the day . We are not of the night nor of darkness.

Ephesians 5:8
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

Philippians 2:15
that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world ,

Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Were those Christians who tortured people at the Inquistion, those Christians who fought in the Crusades who raped women and killed children, and those Protestant Christians who burnt women alive at the Salem Witch Trials....sons and daughters of light as well ?

Light huh....

You DO REALIZE that Lucifer is the Lightbringer, right ?

Matthew 5:16 also says "that they may see your GOOD WORKS and GLORIFY YOUR FATHER in heaven." You need to realize that if what Christians do does not glorify God it is not of God. Christians are not immune to the temptations and lies of the devil.

* so you're logic that [human beings are spirits because God is the Father of spirits] is completely destroyed... 😉

Yet Christians like JesusIsAlive and Punker69 claim they are "dead to sin"...as do many Baptists claim....are they just bullshitting us then ?

No, sin can be overcome.
"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" James 4:7

That does not mean that Satan does not try to influence us. Even Satan was approached by Satan and tempted. However, Jesus resisted him and he fled. We are not all as strong in faith as Jesus.
"... in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you" Romans 12:3
Christians slip up sometimes. However, we die to sin in baptism and are reborn in victory with Jesus through whom all things are possible. This essentially means that sin will no longer be stumbling block in our lives and that our lives will be pleasing to God because sin no longer has a hold on us. This does not mean that we never slip even though we shouldn't. But "the flesh is weak."

Yes. It is what they believe, but yes, it is BS with no sound Biblical support.

No sir Peejayd, that was not a recant. Let me reiterate where I stand. We are created in the image and likeness of God. God is a Spirit. God's image and likeness is a reference to what He looks like and God is a Spirit. Image cannot refer to God's clothes, sneakers, hairstyle, or jewelry that He wears (I am being facestious for no other reason than to make a point). So then what else COULD image and likeness mean? I submit to you that God's image and likeness is what He is (His essence) as well as the composition of His anatomy. I provided this link previously but here it is again as a refresher. It corroborates my point that the part of us that is created in God's image and likeness is the "spirit" aspect of our three-fold nature: we are spirt, have a soul (mind, will, emotions), and we dwell in a physcial body.

Could God have a body if he wished? Is, as Origen said, it possible God has a physical face, when he so needs it?

And why, in your opinion, did God make our bodies like this? Since our bodies aren't reflective of God, and only our soul is, why give us bodies like this? And why does he like this style so much? If the classical images of Angels were in any way accurate it seems they to have bodies reminiscent of ours...

Furthermore, Peejayd, our spirit is an exact replica of what we look like physically. If you are 6' 2" "physically," but then you die, your spirit will be the same exact size. Your facial features, hair, eye color, everything (possibly not the excess fat though) will be identical. If there are any abnormalities however, you will not have any as a spirit. Remember your spirit is "born again." I am not sure if there are any Scripture to support this so bear with me. But I will search. All I have at the moment are testimonies of individuals who have had near-death experiences.

Yes. Yes I do. Oh wait, the question wasn't for me. Oh well, my ego demanded I answer anyway.

Moreover, God is Light according to the Bible. So since God is called the Father of "lights" plural, then as Jesus would say, the Scripture cannot be broken. We Christians are sons and daughters of God the Father; therefore, we are possibly whom the apostle James is referring to when he says "lights." Just as the Scripture states that God is the Father of "spirits" this verse reveals that God is the Father of "lights."

Maybe the lights are our brothers and sisters. God creating humans, lights and who knows what else (some theorize after all that God has created other universes, and will create more after this one eventually gets knocked on the head.) I think it would be cool if we got to heaven and discovered the souls of all these other species God has made as his chosen and children before.
