I suppose there are slight differences..then we are part of the same race.
Look at it this way..
A lot of people ignore the people in the middle - they only see black, white or chinese, and they tend to ignore, people of darker skin, who are neither chinese, nor black nor white.
In this case, people refer to them by their ethnicity.
As you will know, not all Europe is white - take a look at Romania, Turkey, even Greece and Cyprus and Serbia and Montenegro. Those people have darker skin, but are still counted as ''white''.
Kinda like Spanish, I guess. The you have Middle Eastaners. If I was to be put in the middle eastern country (no head scarf) my hair longer, I wold not stand out. However, if an English person for example was to be put in an middle eastern country, they would stick out like a sore thumb.
Middle Easterners are not black, and they are not white, and they are certainly not chinese (haha, sorry)...so what ''race'' do they belong to?
If people keep on doing that, they will eventually find that each country will have a different 'race' of people.
Not all Africans are the same. Northen africans are very very pale. And they dont have traditional African features either.
Certain East Africans for example look Arabic, but with more tan...etc, you get the point.
We simply CANNOT group people in races - because there are so many people inbetween.
I hang out with a lot of black people and they tend to do that a lot - they tend to see the world as being black, white or chinese. White people do it too...and Chinese as well - they see as ''western'' or ''african'' you have to be either.
The world is just simply ****ed up - to be blunt.

Well I consider it a religion...but lets make that easy and look at the definition of race for a second.
race1 ( P ) Pronunciation Key (rs)
n.
1 A local geographic or global human population distinguished as a more or less distinct group by genetically transmitted physical characteristics.
2 A group of people united or classified together on the basis of common history, nationality, or geographic distribution: the German race.
3 A genealogical line; a lineage.
4 Humans considered as a group.
5 Biology.
1. An interbreeding, usually geographically isolated population of organisms differing from other populations of the same species in the frequency of hereditary traits. A race that has been given formal taxonomic recognition is known as a subspecies.
2. A breed or strain, as of domestic animals.
6 A distinguishing or characteristic quality, such as the flavor of a wine.
So looking at that, there are races in humans. So what are we arguing about here?
though there are common yet varying differences in features of ethnicities, it has nothing to do with biological differences. with that being said, why is it so taboo to acknowledge differences in ethnicities. black people tend to have more round skulls, flat noses, and full lips, and other more intimate differences i wont mention, though im sure someone else will. yet to say that is "hate speech". wha? why? *looks for hate* *finds none*. yeah, there are some black people with more flat faces/skulls, potruding noses, and thin lips. of coarse. but when talking of statistics why is it "hate speech"? i dont have thin lips, a flat ass, and an annoying whiney voice, so should i be offended when eddie murphy or dave chapelle bags on white people?
when i see a non-white comedian making fun of white people, whether or not i find it funny or just beaten-to-death cliches, i really cant be offended. i fail to see why its such a sensative issue the other way around. thats what i find annoying.
we live in a society where we are told to "celebrate diversity" but can you celebrate something without acknowledging it?

Euroblacks have Caucasian features yet very dark skin, they are predominantly found in north Africa and west Asia.

However, when you say ''black'' people who do you mean? There are people in Asia, (india to be percise) who are very very black - but their features are indian.
If you say ''African'' how about people in Egypt, Morroco and other North African countries...
Its still really difficult to group...
(remember, native Jamaicans were West Indians)
edit ^^ Im sure I had a point when i wrote that, but i forgot it, so im leaving it in my post anyway

I think you see that to negative. It is just a simple classification, kind of like hair colour. Or nationality. I understand that it has a very negative image..and that the KKK and Nazi usage of the term is wrong. Also, that biologically it might not apply to humans...but in the English language (and in the German one) the term race is not limited to these definitions and is therefore applicable.

But race is a generalization, that isn't limited by color of skin or hair.
When I ask you to characterize a race you can't because the definition is to broad.

keep in mind that the regions mentioned have had a long history of mingling and coexisting with other ethnicities. i'm white yet part native american. not even 20 years living in the new world and one of my ancestors got it on with pocahontas. you just cant have neighboring ethnicities living side by side for long. they will either kill eachother or eventually breed eachother's exclusively ethnic features out of existance.

Which I think would be a good solution to racism. We should all just mingle till we're all the same colour...
