Count Dooku Vs Obi-Wan(ROTS), Grievous, and Kit Fisto

Started by Darth Subjekt17 pages

Why are you pulling AOTC out of you ass? the statement was and I quote, "Kit Fisto together with Obi-Wan won't do any better than the ROTS Anakin / Obi-Wan team which got pwned by Dooku.' PLEASE tell me how in ROTS Anakin was owned...he killed Dooku remember? So what actual storyline are you watching? And no its not irrelevant at all...Someone made a false statement, I corrected it. I even went as far to acknowledge the fact that OB1 DID get owned, but NOT Anakin. So what the hell are you talking about?

Did you watch the movie ? Dooku toyed with them. He blocked them both at the same time with rediculous ease and then proceeded with simply take Obi-Wan out of the fight (force choke) while fending off and kicking Anakin away. So yes, he owned their sorry asses.

The fact that he finally lost to Anakin doesn't matter. We've seen that Anakin wasn't superior to Obi-Wan and if you read the ROTS novel you would know that Dooku went into the fight with Sidious command that he should take down Obi-Wan and then lose to Anakin. And what did he do: Take down Obi-Wan and lose to Anakin.

So I'd say that Dooku didn't give Anakin all he could after Obi-Wan was out of the fight. That Anakin cut his hands off was obviously not a part of his plan but seeing that he was able to fend of the duo rather easily I doubt that he was inferior to Anakin. He lost on purpose. And that won't happen with Kit Fisto and Obi-Wan - or do you want to argue now that Fisto is superior to Anakin or superior to Dooku ?

LOL..WTF are you talking about?! If YOU would listen to the AC on ROTS, which by the way, is more canon than a Novel, you would know that Dooku knew NOTHING. He thought he was meant to kill both Jedi. And the fact that he could defend against both of them, simply shows that they were in each others way. Of course you cant swing wild with your boy right next to you. Why take the chance of hitting him just to have a chance of hitting your opponent? Use common sense. Anakin owned Dooku and rather easily. And GL's word is WAY higher than that of a novel author. Look it up.

And IMo I think Anakin would have won that Obi vs. Ani match in Rots if he hadn't let his ego get in the way. IMO Obi-wan looked lik he was really losing alot of enery fast, more than Anakin anyways...

that was a shitty jump....i mean he jumped from that falling arm thing, all the way to that small little lava droid, but yet he cant jump high enough and far enough to avoid getting hit by OB1?....c'mon. I think had they started the saga from ep 1 and Vader didn't HAVE to be in a suit, then Anakin would have won. And no thats not fanboyism, thats logic based on what was shown in the movie. And like Ush said in a different thread, the best doesn't always win...anyone can win on any day. That day was just OB1's.

Read LoE. At the end, Sidious says something along the lines of "Kill Kenobi. Don't worry about Anakin; if he beats you, you'll be promised amnesty."

Knowing this, Dooku could safely lose to Anakin, allowing him to not have the care of letting his guard down. The fight was on Dooku's side, but Sidious had other plans.

Dooku > Anakin.

I could use that Logic for Dooku. I could just say It was Anakins day, right?

But I wouldn't, because that Logic is complete bullshit.

Kenobi simply owned Anakin.

Kenobi was a better fighter because he fought smarter.

Anakin sucked because he didn't know how to use his head while fighting.

What he said

refer to ROTS AC...more official canon. Plain and simple.

you're absolutely right...you could. But Anakin was hardly "owned". He lost, but because of a piss poor decision...which i said before. so if that makes OB1 a better fighter...then whatever. The movie played out as planned.

by the way, how is that logic bullshit?

I watched the ROTS commentary 2 days ago. It doesn't say that.

youre right

"In this particular case Palpatine's testing Anakin to see if he's strong enough to become his apprentice and he and he doesn't actually tell Dooku what he's up to so Dooku thinks he's just going to fight him but the whole thing was a set up by the Emperor to test Anakin's strength and when Anakin's strong enough, which he proves to be by killing Dooku, then the Emperor's ready to convert him over to the Dark Side to become his new apprentice." - George Lucas, ROTS AC

Youre right Anakin's strong enough but 99 out of 100 times Dooku will kill Anakin.

Thank you Darthsith...purple, get your hearing checked...

well out of two fights, Dooku died. so at best, you could say 50 times out of 100. And one of those times is when Anakin was still a Padawan and less powerful...obviously it wasn't the case in ROTS, where he kills Dooku in the shortest lighsaber duel.

This is your interpretation of that statement:

"In this particular case Palpatine's testing Anakin to see if he's strong enough to become his apprentice and he and he doesn't actually tell Dooku what he's up to so Dooku thinks he's just going to fight him but the whole thing was a set up by the Emperor to test Anakin's strength and when Anakin's strong enough, which he proves to be by killing Dooku, then the Emperor's ready to convert him over to the Dark Side to become his new apprentice." - George Lucas, ROTS AC

Do you want to make me laugh ? Dooku didn't know that he should get killed, right. And he didn't know that "killing him" is what Anakin must do to become Sidious new apprentice. But he knew that Sidious wanted Anakin to join the Dark Side. Watch the CW Cartoons. Read the ROTS novel. It's damn obvious that Dooku knew that Sidious wanted Anakin on his side.
Lucas doesn't contradict this with his statement - in fact you see Dooku taunting Anakin into using his anger. Why would he do that ? He knew that this would make Anakin stronger ! Would you tell an opponent to use a stronger weapon (in this case the Dark Side) against you, if you want to kill him ? I guess not.

So Dooku obviously wasn't up to kill Anakin in the situation - he wanted to convert him to the Dark Side (or make him use the Dark Side) and before he did that he had complete control over the fight (hello...he managed to seperate Anakin and Obi-Wan and remove Obi-Wan from the fight, he even parried a strike from Anakin and kicked him away while force choking Obi-Wan).

And still it doesn't matter in this threat unless you want to tell me that Kit Fisto is superior to Anakin and will use the Dark Side against Dooku. Since I don't see that happening, Dooku still wins. Period.

Borbarad is right, if you watch closely Dooku is taunting Anakin, not even really trying against both of them, nor when he's fighting Anakin alone. Sure Anakin won this fight, but is he better than DOoku? Not even close.

Yes he is, he won. Dooku didnt

Great.
Blind Han Solo > Boba Fett (Han survived, Boba didn't)
ROTJ Vader > ROTJ Sidious (Vader won, right ?)
ROTS Mace > ROTS Sidious (Sidious was down on the ground, right ?)
TPM Obi-Wan > Darth Maul (who died, huh ?)
ANH Luke > 100,000s of Imperial Stormtroopers, Officers and Tarkin (who did blow the Death Star up, huh ?)

Ignoring the circumstances is such a funny thing when trying to judge the combat skills of SW characters. 🙄

Trying to measure the strength of any Sw character is hard and is Bs in general. For all we know Gg could be the strongest light sabre user in the galaxy, and the only reason he lost the times that he lost was because his asthma was kicking in.

No that's just silly.
