Great graphics yes, but I was more impressed with Oblivion.A gigantic world, full of mountains, trees, animals, dozens of different flowers, a day and night cycle, impressive thunder and lightning effects, gorgeous water, the setting sun that reflects in your sword, beautiful spells... Even the architecture is impressive.
What did I see in GOW ? Erm, well, a lot of grey ruins. You see the difference ?
Again, it is a good game with great graphics, but not the best graphics.
And all you saw was grey ruins? Are you still on Act 1 or somethin'? It's either that or you might go get some glasses. 😬

Hmm screw the graphics for a second, and lets talk multiplayer goodness.
How about we say/argue about weapons to counter other weapons and specific strategies for maps and/or specific(annoying) players such as grenade taggers etc.
I'll go first...duh:
Longshot > Torque Bow. I find the best weapon to manhandle the Torque bow is the Longshot because while it takes the Torque bow user a while to actually aim you can headshot their brains off their skull.

actually.. while in cover you can hold R on the torque bow to pull back the arrow in blindfire mode, and then press L to jump to aim mode..cuts down on the aiming time alot... had to discover this while facing my snipe happy friend -,-
well with torque, stand up and aim (if ur on low cover) aim till u get the straight line right above them (well this is best on tyro station) then sit down, while in cover, they'll more and likely stand up. once they do, let go and off it goes to their head! usually the head, if not, then usually right over them, so i suggest once u go down in cover, to lower the aim down about a cm or something
Oh I forgot to complain about something : I enjoy myself while playing GOW, but one thing really bothers me : it's so freaking linear.
Beats me how people can think that such a linear game is so innovative.
(And don't get me started about the invisible walls, or doors that won't open again because you just reached a checkpoint).

Oblivion had great graphics but Gears of War blows it away... you seriously can't even compare it. There's one level in particular on multiplayer, I think its the mansion one... where the rain effect outside was just incredible. GoW has the best graphics ever

Just a very small piece of the world.

Oblivion had much better graphics than GOW, but maybe it's just a matter of personal taste.
It certainly didn't. Oblivion's textures were not that good, especially in the distance. Also character textures were much lower res than Gears. The lighting was very exaggerated and washed out, as well. Plus the game ran much worse than gear, framerate hitches and slowdown were constant, while Gears constantly runs smooth as butter.

But I don't want to turn this into a "GOW vs Oblivion" thread. They are both good games.
I'm not exaggerating at all. Oblivion's textures are not as sharp and clean as GOWS, the lighting also isn't as organic, and the framerate is much worse.
If you didn't want people to disagree with your claim of Oblivion having superior graphics, than perhaps you shouldn't have made the comparison in the first place.
