Gears of War

Yeah online is great. Good mixture of action and strategy.

I fail to see the comparison of both Gears of War and Oblivion. Two very different genres. Two very different enviorements and storytelling. Two very different worlds...and very VERY different characters.

Is Gears of War very original? No, if you're familiar with Warhammer 40k you'll notice a few similiraties between the weapons and uniforms. Is Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion original? Hell NO! it's a mixture of Warhammer Fantasy with a touch of D&D.

Great games...pointless to make comparisons with each other.

Comparisons were in graphical technology, nothing more, no gameplay elements or scope of the world aspects, just graphics.

Yeah. There seems to be a problem with the servers. You can still login n' all of that, but matchmaking isn't working. Games such as Battlefield 2 and Phantasy Star Online are still playable because they're on E.A. Servers and Sega servers respectively.

Yeah, I was playing the campaign with a friend on live and it kicked me off, we were very annoyed! But after we waited a bit (a loooong bit) while chatting, I tried it again and it worked!

I am terrible at ranked matches

I was playing GoW yesterday and all of a sudden I was kicked and when I tried a few times to reconnect Live I gave up on Gow and to see if it wasnt just Gow I tried UNO and thats when I realized Live was down. I also checked XBOX forums and it was down almost all day.

Rumors of points concidering leaderboards/ranked matches I have personally went to see if they were true or false:

true : if you or the host leave in the middle of the game, you gain no points.

false : you get only half the points if you lose the match. (you actually get them all)

false : if host leaves at the very end of the match before anyone else, no one gets points

false : you lose 500 poitns for leaving a game. (you get no penalty what so ever.)

false : if 2 or more people leave, no one gains any points. (everyone still gets them)

false : the winning team gets an additional 100 points. (they don't get any reward points, they get what they earned)

....so yeah all these i have truely personally went to find out. i hope this helps many people.

I just played Gears of War for the first time as well today and I throughly enjoyed what I've played thus far and look forward to playing more tomorrow.

Did anybody choose to skip the tutorial in the beginning?

I found that surprising that it would have that option but then I figured it was probably for the people who were playing the game over again after completing it once already.
