I disagree with you Forum, I think the Colts D played extremely well. They brought the 2 RB's down on the first tackle, totally confused Bree and Payton, and made the plays when they needed to be made. Maybe having Sanders in the Colts D makes that much of difference, and maybe, just maybe, Kieho and the two CB's are better than last years starters. They just played extremely well.

Offense, Manning just ****ed them up. The Saints are going to have trouble with that LBing crew because they just looked lost.

On the otherhand, maybe the Colts can do it again. They looked really, really good. Remember, this wasnt just an win, they totally ****ed the Saints up.

Man David got his ass messed up. They should have given him the horse trailer player of the game award, he was responsible for 28 total points! I see Payton is back to his bad play calling ways. Not nearly enough of the run, I think it's a habit with him, once he gets down he completely abandons it. Hopefully he will learn, I thought losing in the NFC championship game would have been a wake up call. Also he was switching Bush and Deuce way too much. One play you had Bush in and then the next Deuce was back in. It's kind of hard to get any kind of a rhythm going when you do that, every other play is a little over board, they were not doing that last year. I don't think Bush got 2 straight rushing attempts the whole game, you have to get him more touches. 12 rushes total is just asinine, especially when he is the main weapon on your offense. But you have to give it up to the Indy defense, they did a great job but I think the game would have been a bit more closer if they would have ran it more.

The only major running plays that the Saints had were because of the huge lead that the Colts had, but when the Saints did have the lead, their run game wasnt going anywhere.

I still think the Colts would of dominated them. Look at the two RB's average for tonight. Bush was 3.2, and Duece was 3.8.

Overall, the Colts dominated the game, and the Saints just sucked ass. No amount of running would of saved the Saints, or kept them closer.

A 3.2 average on only 12 carries for Bush, 3.8 on only 10 for Deuce. Their run game was not stinking up the place, they only ran like 1 time a drive, sometimes 2 when they got a first down, it just didn't make any sense. You don't need a major running play to keep the run game going. You have to look in between the lines. This was more of bad play calling for the Saints. It was tied at half time but they came out throwing it like they were down by how much they end up losing by. Even if your down two touchdowns, do not abandon the run game, but Sean Payton did exactly what he did in the NFC championship game and stopped running. It's not like Drew Brees was having any success throwing it either. I just don't like the way this man calls plays when he's down. He has to do a better job recognizing the point differential. Also the Colts do not have a good run defense, you can look at the end result all you want but what it comes down to is Payton's bad play calling. If he would have kept going at them with the run, it would have opened up opportunities in the passing game, not "lets keep throwing the ball and occasionally mixing in a run to try to throw the defense off so we can throw the ball more".

When Indy scored that first touchdown in the second half he panicked and abandoned the run. That's the bottom line.

dont get me wrong, the D played really well. I am just saying I am not buying into the D being as good as they looked last night. I think the Saints offense played exceptionally bad also which contributed to the awesomeness of the Colts D.

Some team is going to get a good 3 years out of Deuce McAllister starting in 2008. Nothing against Deuce, for he's a top 15 RB, but the Saints are going to revolve the offense around Bush. Not because Bush is 100 times better or anything like that, but they will be at a point where they have to make a decision. None of this one play in, one play out, 3rd down screen BS. He's going to have to be the 1st and 2nd down back, because he is the star in the Big Easy, and Payton is going to have to make it Bush's team, even with Brees.

If you noticed also, last night was the beginning of a new captain's designation. From a message board:

Emo, the Saints run a kind of West Coast offense. Their short passing is their running game. They never ran much last year either, and had the most passing yards in the league. And Reggie didn't get tons of touches, but they also threw to him a lot. It wasn't a matter of not enough touches, it was just that the Colts shut them down.

More shocking to me was that they never stretched the field. Brees set an all-time NFL record for least yds per completion (minimum 25 completions). All they did were short passes, which let Indy tee off on them because they weren't worried about the deep ball.

I dont know what game you saw but any run that was more than 8 yards (which is easy last year against the Colts) was an end around, or an draw play that was opened up just because the Colts were protecting the long pass. But the majority of runs were stopped from behind the line of scrimmage, or 2 yards afterwords.

The Colts defense dominated the Saints offense. No amount of running was going to help them. And remember, Lord Evo, the reason the score was tied wasnt because of the run game, but more of the excellent strip David did against Wayne.

Bush had 16 touches with passes also, but with a big yardage of 45 yards. Are we going to say that if he got 10 more touches that would of made a difference? Heck no. Even during the last quarter, he wasnt going anywhere with passes, or runs. The fact remains, the Colts dominated the game and no amount of running would of made a difference.

If they dont have Newman, they're ****ed. Ellis in my opinion can be replaced with little negative effect, but losing Newman, the Cowboys are ****ed. Terry Glenn on the otherhand is also important for the team because he is thier deep threat and highly underrated. They could possible be alright, but the offense wont be as explosive.

But Newman gone, or might be gone, they're in trouble.

Watching the New York - Pats game and I think the Jets fans can go **** themselves.

Pennington gets hurt and as soon as he starts hobbling off the field (the replay showed him getting smushed and his knee or ankle totally looked ****ed) the Jets fans start cheering the him coming off the field.

I understand if they dont like him, but to cheer him off the field is horrible. It's alright to be a little bit happy, but to cheer, thats wrong.

I dont understand though, he was playing pretty good and made a good throw to Coles for the TD. What the **** has he done to warrent this bullshit? And really, to cheer Clemens to come on, its not like he's the number 1 pick overall or anything. It's bullshit.
