The specific scenarios that you speak of are irrelevant. What are helmet-to-helmet hits by the Steelers, Patriots, & Falcons today are going to be ones by the Packers, Chiefs, and Cowboys tomorrow. You get my drift.

The only thing worth mentioning is the impact of this change. Try this one on for size:

Just like in World Cup soccer, you're going to see WR's "diving" like crazy. Crappy QB's will continue to lead their WR's across the middle, and when they're popped, IF THERE IS A SLIGHTEST CHANCE THAT A CHINSTRAP GRAZED THE WR'S HELMET, he will be taught to STAY DOWN. Defensive players WILL get suspended because of WR's "diving." Before there was no reason to fake a injury except to stop the clock. Boy, that has changed now. And it will. Guaranteed.

Now you have the opportunity to get a division rival suspended, maybe even for the playoffs. What better way to play spoiler than that?

So everyone enjoy that when it arrives, which may be as early as this Sunday.

Last I heard, Collie was going to be out for a few weeks.

But yeah, Clark being out for the rest of the season is devastating to the Colts.

I understand exactly what your talking about. Hockey is plague with these issues, I just don't see it being any issue in the NFL. If they outlaw helmet hits (rightfully so), you can still hit the player hard, just not in helmet to helmet.

Sooner or later, NFL fans will have to deal with it because the NFL isn't doing this because they want too, but because they have too. There will be outside forces that will tell the NFL to stop these types of hits. Concussions weren't understood 20 years ago but now, concussions are becoming a huge focal point for people and the NFL will just have to adapt.

who will peyton be throwing to other than garcon?

is gonzales back yet?

Sorry, I thought they just banned helmet hits, but banned hitting on receivers also?

So if a punter lays out a returner with a helmet-to-helmet blast, is he gone, too?

Yeah. If it's helmet to helmet and the rule states that you can't do it, then yes.

Just because he's a punter means nothing. Look at the Cowboys kicker, he's a big guy and you don't need to be huge to concuss somebody.

The Ravens are losing to the Bills. What the **** is this shit.

Gotta love Todd Heap's touchdown. Instead of trying to hit him and pop the ball loose, 2 Bills defenders would rather not risk a hit to their bank account and just let him go up and catch it without the slightest of challenges. Get used to it.

so.. how 'bout them titans

I'm going to become homicidal from watching this Chargers game, heck from watching the Chargers season.

Browns won against the Saints today.

That's 3 straight years the Browns have beaten the defending Super Bowl champion:

2008 - Giants
2009 - Steelers
2010 - Saints
