man this thread is bangin, not long ago it was nothing.
btw bad news peeps, i broke my anckle last tournament i was in without knowing it half way through a fight and i broke it again a few weeks ago 🙁 tho it's reset because it was dislocated slightly the whole time i between the fight and the new break.
So i think my chances of going places karate wise this year are down the drain. it's really weak now ( im clicking it atm) and it's funny but sucks at the same time.
Also i herd that if you fill the core of a boxing/kick bag with crushed concrete it becomes more unmovable, givving the user a better resiliance to solid enemys. good to know 😄
Good luck with that bogen. Sorry about the ankle.

for those that follow MMA, do u guyz consider Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira the strongest BJJ fighter today? there's also Rickson Gracie, Royce Gracie, B.J. Penn etc...
Not to mention, Nogueira can't be knocked out. He has shrugged off blows by Crocop and Fedor. I swear that man's chin is made of steel.
I practiced judo years ago, got the brown belt and participated in several tournaments. I got kinda bored with it, being a youngster then, and dropped out. Some years later I took up Kempo and got rather fanatic in that. Brown belt again, until I got a job with bothersome working hours and was not able to continue training frequent enough anymore.
I'll return to it when my job allows it again, and I'm am considering western medieval combat as a new hobby as well.

i'd love to see Nog vs Rickson Gracie.i think that would be the best BJJ fight...ever.
I've never been a big fan BJJ, in fact I think most forms of grappling are boring. I prefer martial arts that consist primarily of striking. Of course, it's always interesting to watch a grappler and a kicker/boxer go at it.

Exactly what I'm looking for.
Did some sword/knife fighting on Kempo, and luckily it focused on quick and nasty kills. But for most of the Asian styles, respect to all those refined Asian sword juggling tricks, but the simple efficiency and brutality of medieval combat seems so much more exiting.

Also the fact that eastern martial arts consist of 'one hit kills" which is good but with western combat the idea is to watch the man bleed to death, pretty impresive if you ask me
SH*T! I didn't know there was a sports forum here!! Wat up dudes? I guess I am coming in the middle of a disscussion but, I am stoked that there are some other martial artists round here. I do Tae kwon do, Wushu, and Arnis (short stick fighting also know as Eskrima). I don't watch tv much so I am a bit out of the loop in that relm of sports tv, but I do watch a little boxing here and there. And I used to be hooked on UFC for a while too. heh.

Indeed! And off course western medieval weapons are way cooler. Props to the katana and such, but need I say 'Battleaxe'?
here's proof that you dont need muscle to defeat your opponent.
