I had a ps2 first then got the box. You weren't missing much. It was way different to me.

dino crisis 2 did seem like a pretty high point at the time...

Well, to be fair, Outbreak File#2, you could run and shoot. Funny that the game sucked ass though.

Having played RE4 extensively....it took me so long to adjust to the new knife controls.

🙁

yeah the knife is alot slower now.. and it sucks that you cant cancel reloading.. even if you did it by accident...

like that time I accidentally reloaded.. and then an axe came from offscreen and killed me.. 😐

I got a feelin' that this game is gonna be real hard. I'm gonna spend alot'o time yellin' out words peeps shouldn't say.

Well I found myself continuously dying from lack of ammo, the fact i can't move while aiming/shooting oh and enemies always seem to shy away from the camera's view, yeah it's going to be hard.

Being hard is a good thing means it will last longer instead of just knock it over in week like most games these days.

African Salvador didn't kill me this time, he killed Sheva.

If the stupid girl hadn't accidentally blown up all the explosive red barrels we may have actually had a chance.

This game is going to be hard for all of the wrong reasons.

Pretty much.

Just dance around the Executioner.

He swings really slow, as soon as you see him start just run past his non-dominant handed side. Kind of like fighting Nemesis in RE3 as Jill.

However it does make it pretty hard when there's 4-5 of his lesser cronies in the room with him, which is where I got caught and Hispanic Boobies saved me - repeatedly.

Hispanic?

I'm pretty sure she's African...

the bosses were too easy IMO.. like you could just pelt them til they flinch, then run up for the booger hook, repeat til they croak.. I mean what the hell is that? they need to do some hardcore 360 degree swings or some shit.. not to mention the zombies are put alongside the boss purposely to give you more ammo for EZ mode...

I'd even like it if they gave them some kind of special interaction with the environment.. like Nemesis in RE2.. dude broke down every damn wall you'd be runnin behind, which made him actually scary

I'm sure this game gets better as you go on.. but I think it needs to up the difficulty a bit.. but at the same time, maybe being able to cancel reloads, and more consistent zombie stuns / melee prompts

other than that this game is really awesome, and I hope its more of a smooth experience than just "Pick your stage..." ... "Choose your character..."

that feels too robotic for an RE game

I agree about the reload. I mean if you can't cancel the reload animation at least let the player walk back/forward while he does it. >=\

Well it is only a demo they still have got time to make it better.

I think you guys are getting you asses handed to you by an easy demo with slow "bosses" and because you are not looking around for ammo (it's freaking everywhere if you actually search rooms instead of wanting it to just be outside in the open) so now you are complaining.

In this game, if you could run and shoot it would take a away a lot of the suspense factor (as has been mentioned earlier: shoot first or get some distance?) and it would be VERY easy to do almost everything in this game with that sort of control scheme.

And the knife is slower, LOL. That's classic. Just slow down and quit trying to play this game like it's Ninja Gaiden.

LoL. I don't need to get my ass handed by a demo to figure out the control leaves something to desire.

I never understood why you could never run and shoot. They say the game is so life like that the different lvls of light can affect your vision, yet you still can't move and shoot. I mean I enjoy my RE as much as the next man but c'mon.

😆 😂 🤣

Fans will be fans.

They don't allow you to move and shoot for the same reason they didn't allow you to have your flashlight and a gun out at the same time in Doom 3, it's to increase the tension and make you feel more vulnerable.

Speaks poorly of them for not being able to create tension without sloppy controls to handicap the player. BTW I hated the flashlight in Doom 3. Completely stupid and unrealistic. Stuff like that fails miserably when other games successfully create similar tension with good controls.

Anyways I realize I come off as a hater, but to be honest I am long time RE fan and it just annoys me that something that has been around since the very first game and that actually feels dated is still in such a fine, polished game.

Anyways I'm done complaining about them. RE5 will own.

Too be honest, they SHOULD let you move while shooting, but you move alot slower, and it's slightly harder to aim. THAT'S how I would do it.

And yes, yay to RE5
