Yeah, I just meant fighting for the right to bear arms can be pointless ....

True enough, some of the why's are tedious excuses at best.

Military keeps you safe....public gun ownership puts you in danger.....understand?

It would be quite obvious that military would not keep you safe if that military is used for offensive reasons. Especially if you may become one being attacked by a soldier with a gun

One example: foreign invasion.

Foreign invasion is not your Military invading you and the foreigners are protected by their own army in that case...

I was speaking of military in general. Besides, the military is made up of a country's citizens. Why should the military keep bared arms?

And what need is there for protection if all weapons were gone?

I know that public gun ownership can put you in danger, but I've never had a gun pointed in my face. Besides, I like having a freezer full of venison.

Well you can only abolish gns in your own country...that'S why we keep militaries

The Military should not be your only line of defense. Depending solely on a force that has a chance of not prevailing... foolhardy.

This whole problem could be so easily eluded by asking the Government and the U.N. one thing.....that if we are all to give up our guns, then we will only do that if they will do the same.

Hasn't anyone thought about this yet? I'm sure they have. That the U.N. or anyone else would have the nerve to say, "Give up your guns for World Peace, but allow us to keep ours in the meantime."

lol. It's bullshit people. Wake up! =)

Hit the nail on the head.

I hope everyone reads this. Banning guns will only work if the government is willing to do the same. That means disposing of the military.

If you can trust that they will........

👆 And it'll be a cold day in hell before this country does that.

the only problem is..........guns dont kill things, bullets do.

You have a freaky username dude...

Disposing of the military? Why in gods name would we do that? Why would any nation?

As I said before, a global ban on guns would require a shift in global politics and situations...and that's just not going to happen.

It's a nice idea, but not at all practical.

No that is nonsense. Banning guns works awesome without banning police forces or the military, just the crazy countries who love their violence see those somehow connected.

Well history shows time and time again, you can't always trust those in authority of you..

History shows....time and time again...that you mostly can...it shows also that you can't trust the people though...

And really, do you think your guns actually protect you from your government? Are you people blind...your government already rapes you up the ass and you cheer for them.....

That's why we need to get some nukes too.......... 😉

A person should be able to protect themselves the best way possible. Besides many guns are used for hunting.

But you put yourself in danger...god..are you blind?

Well, hunting is not a necessity nowadays though.

What are you saying? That we are too sophisticated now to deny human instincts?

No, my friend, hunting will become a necessity if the world falls into a dark age. Lets not forget our caveman roots quite yet.

I wish to God/Buddha/Bramha/whoever the frook is out there that everyone could just throw down their guns, tanks, knives, katanas... (anything else?)etc. and play nice. But, unfortunately, it doesn't quite work out that way. Perhaps Americans are blind. Perhaps they cannot see they're putting themselves in danger by allowing guns to hang around, but you are blind if you cannot see that you're vulnerable in your current situation. Perhaps you are safe as you claim, and nothing drastic can happen, but I'm sure there's a lot more violence that goes on than you know in your country.
