Aw, but its fun! Sometimes its ok to be absurd. I only read yuri fics, so I guess the fetishes stuff might be true. I don't know if yuri counts as a fetish though. Unless you're talking about the more 'adult' stuff, in which case, well duh!

Though I once read an Azula/Ursa fic which was pretty good....

It stretches my suspension of disbelief too far. Especially when the author slashes together to characters that would otherwise have nothing to do with each other.

The only fanfiction I like is stuff that I could plausibly see actually happening given the previously established canon material, or fanfiction that's original and just uses the setting.

You will enjoy this. Or you will hate it.

Azutara isn't that unlikely. Azula is clearly gay. Its not like its Aang/Longshot levels of stupid.

Well, you're boring. :I

Does this work? I use the KMC classic template, rather than the black background

I saw that actually. I've been going through and reading every single blog post on Less Wrong, which is becoming one of the most depressing experiences in my life.

Are you trying to make your text invisible?

You already posted that. I called Harry a Gary Stu and you got pissed at me.

Looking back however, I can see I was wrong. An 11 year old being smarter than than a 40 year old Hogwarts professor is clearly 100% believable.

(I still have it bookmarked. I'm on chapter 10 or something.)

I believe you are missing the point of that story. He's using HP as a vehicle to explain a lot of mind blowing concepts and how they would mesh with HP's magic system.

Of course I've never read any of the HP books, so my first foray into the HP universe is an odd one I guess.

Lesswrong is something of a morass of basic incompetence, where the incidence of [head so far up own butt that you're looking out your own mouth] is at roughly 100%.

The blog is hard to watch, like a train running over a line of baby ducks. The story is fun, though!

yes

I get that, I just don't like smug boy geniuses (any more).

Must resist.... re-watching..... Avatar (TLA)......!

[b] yes

It's like, I've always considered myself to be above the grain. I was classified as highly gifted, I felt badass, a smug little shit. The I discover that "no, your not so smart."

Oh and the gray is #333. You attempt was #666.

Hmm, I was off, although that's barely visible. The star wars skin doesn't use a web safe color. You might want to try 32323.

Is this better?

Almost there, on the precipice, but still not dark enough. Keep adding more 2s or some 1s.

Speaking of Yudkowsky, I found this exchange to be particularly powerful.

I'm not sure why Jim Caldwell wasn't fired after his first game as a head coach. He is truly the worst coach I've ever seen in any sport. Manning should have been player coach from the day Dungy retired.

I have a friend who's currently working towards his Master's in Social Psych. As part of his degree, he does a lot of lab work. At the moment he's focusing on the nature of stereotypes.

One of his tests involved a NHPT test with a bunch of women aged 18-22. Basically, they had these women sit in two different rooms. In the first room, the walls were covered in posters of hot women, the kind of stuff you would find in a guy's room if he wasn't worried about being tasteless. The women didn't care too much about the objectifying posters.

Room number two, the walls were covered in science fiction and fantasy posters. Nerd shit. The test subjects felt extremely uncomfortable while in the room, as opposed to the room covered in posters that objectified them.

*sigh*

Odd that no girl that age would have a geek streak, unless the presence of other competitive females prevented it from showing.

The problem with being a nerd in college.

Good read(especially for Veneficus).
