I love how people are telling us how Filoni should have done his job lol. I think he did a good job on handling the fight, and showcasing Sidious' unquestionable dominance over the brothers (yes Sidious stomped them hard).
The Maul bros are good, no doubt, but when two people are only able to land a couple of hits on a guy who is clearly toying around and not taking the fight seriously, while trying not to kill one of them, it just shows how dominant the guy is over the two.
Hell, I've even seen fans of both Maul and Savage posting about how they were disappointed on how easily Sidious handled them like jokes. Anyone who watched the fight knows Sidious was not really struggling at all.

At the end of the day, with Sidious, nobody was really going to be able to touch him. He had to be the strongest, most dangerous guy.
Sidious begins by demonstrating quite ably that he can use the Force to crush the life out of them any time he pleases. (And he does directly Force manipulate them together and individually a few more times.)
Per Filoni, they're not competition. And he was enjoying himself immensely. Therefore it stands to reason that he would prolong the fight to maximize his enjoyment of it. Else he would have just crushed the life out of them the second he walked into the room, which he proved he could do.
Not sure what other conclusion can be drawn, DP.

Well the "immensely" is your word. He did say he enjoyed beating them. But then the official site also states Sidious enjoyed fighting Yoda- Under the Revenge of the Sith commentary. So "enjoyment" is not in and of itself proof of holding back.

I suppose you could say he prolonged the fight by only using his Force powers when necessary- Filoni does say that when he decided he had enough he put his sabers away to Force pwn Maul. But I don't think he was prolonging the Saber duel by extensively holding back in Sabers.
When it comes to the "Lightsaber duel" there's 2 of his points to consider:
1. Filoni wanted it to be an Epic duel.
2. Filoni stated that just Opress's performance was superior to Tiin/Kolar/Fisto's based on what we were shown. That suggests what we were shown was legitimate Imho.

We've been over this ad nauseam. Sidious clearly did restrain himself at certain points in the duel with Yoda when he foolishly believed Yoda wasn't in a position to threaten him (e.g., after he knocked Yoda out and after Yoda stopped his pod). But, unlike the brothers, Yoda evoked visible fear and struggle in Sidious.

It stands to reason that a person fighting to the death who is legitimately threatened by his enemy will throw everything up to and including the kitchen sink at his opponent to gain an advantage. It also stands to reason that he or she will not be in a place of joy or happiness during the contest. That Sidious did neither of these things suggest that he did not feel threatened during the swordfight either.

No, Filoni says Savage "lasts longer" than the B-team. That works just as well with the idea that Sidious allowed Savage to last longer. Which, coincidentally, is supported by Word of God.
They orchestrated the fight in the way they did for the single purpose of entertaining the audience. It's obvious. The only reason as to why the brothers weren't stomped since the very beginning of the duel is because Filoni wanted to put Sidious' power on display for everyone.
That's why they didn't do it Tiin-Fisto-Kolar style. 'Cause it was lame.
