The butthurt though!
I bet his stories would have been Original. Wish they used them. Because JJ is clearly a great Director but I'd say he lacks the Imagination for Star Wars. However if he directed a film based on Lucas's story and ideas, then that could have been Epic IMO.

Really? Explain the plot of TPM strictly using the information provided in the films with the trade route disputes because I have no clue what Palpatine wanted to happen there.
There was a trade route dispute between the Naboo and the Trade Federation. They blockaded the system in protest (a technically legal action). But because it was disrupting trade to and from Naboo (presumably a regional capital given their ability to bring an issue to the Senate Floor) the Chancellor dispatched the Jedi to bring a good conclusion.
Palpatine as I understand it simply wanted to draw the issue out as long as possible and show how incompetent and ineffectual the Republic was.

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks. What was the planet invasion, the capture of the Queen, and wanting to sign this "treaty" about?
Well when the Federation attempted to murder the negotiators of the Republic they were doing an illegal action. So they jammed all transmissions on the planet via an invasion. They wanted to capture the Queen to sign the treaty making their occupation legal.
Now what makes no ****ing sense is why Padme didn't just have the Jedi testify to the Senate. + The recording of her minister saying the death toll was catastrophic.
^All addressed here.
Wasn't the Chancellor at the time(forgot his name) kinda shown as an incompetent moron? I recall there being dialogue saying the Chancellor didn't hold any real power and was corrupted and also there being a Senate scene where he wasn't looked upon favorably or some such. Which then prompted a vote to elect Palpatine as Chancellor?

Yeah but dude...no amount of corruption can make it so the senate would ignore video evidence of an invasion.

But the video evidence they had, was noted by Obi-Wan to be a trick. Plus it's noted I think some of the Senate or whatever was under the pay of the Trade Federation anyway, the whole Senate seemed corrupted.
They also had the recording of the Trade Federation attacking their ship, two Jedi as witnesses who had an assassination attempt on them in spite of being the Chancellors personal delegates. Not to mention the fact that the Jedi had the crew of their vessels destroyed.
And are you seriously going to tell me that no one thought to photograph the droid invasion? Of all those soldiers and escorts no one could simply take a video of the fleet of invasion vessels touching down outside the capital city?
