I get that we shouldn't have to censor ourselves, but without context it seems like the guy was just a collosal plank, or worse was practically baiting them.
Its the same thing with South Park, except that there they weren't actually making fun of Muhammad (not saying he was). These people are stupid though, Muhammad himself was strictly against violence. It really is just like the crusades, people don't understand what the hell their holy book says. 😬

Most Muslims are peaceful, but then most Christians and Jews are as well because they've been busy for the past two thousand years changing the interpretation of text to make it fit modern day needs. This is the first thing anyone learns in Religious Studies.

Completely. They change laws according to what they think is acceptable for current society. They make shit up as they go along, they're not considered as a credible source by any orthodox body.

That pretty much fits with what he told me.
He told me they view the Torah as an important to cultural history, but that the laws in five first books (what I would call Genesis through Deuteronomy,) aren't taken literally as descriptions of actual events or laws to be followed. He also said they don't view God as a personal figure but in a more pantheistic view.
