Ok wow, what a finish to Ascension. The writing was decent but we are finally at the climax that has never existed in the Star Wars universe. I definitely like where the writers are headed with this and have started to wonder if they had this in mind with the LOTJ series, gearing up for one apocalyptic finale. Honestly, if Luke was ever going to get killed off, it has to happen next book. Only negative is that the last book comes out in like 10 months so I'm assuming they're trying to finish off the New Republic era once and for all.

My own climaxes are pretty enjoyable teehehehehe

So what happened?

Isn't San Francisco where all the queers be at? We could just get Jessie to go for us I guess.

It was also where Caesar and his apes have started their revolution to conquer this planet.

No kidding, too much true blood, harry potter or those *** vampire movies with the dude's taking their shirts off. Once a queer always a queer gideon. Anyways..

Spoiler:
Abeloth takes control of thr Galactic Alliance and whatever remains of the lost tribe she hadn't killed, are now serving here. This happened at the end of the book. Also, Vestara killed her father and wanted to become a Jedi but at the end, realized she never would. Daala and Jag had a firefight across a mining colony. We get a glimpse into the next book when Raynar goes back to the Killik colony to ascertain the history of the Celestials, which Abeloth is certainly a part of. The queen tells her that Abeloth is indeed a Celestial and she was imprisoned by the Celestials on this planet millennia ago. Raynar tells her that Abeloth escaped and the Killiks start rapidly preparing for something. The Queen tells Raynar that the galaxy is dead.
Spoiler:
I'm fairly sure Luke will die next book. He needs to die pretty soon actually.
Spoiler:
Luke needs to die. Now.

I doubt Lucas will allow Luke to be killed off but if it was ever going to happen, it would have to be against a cetified force God. I however will be pissed if he dies anything other than a natural death.

Yeah, I can't see them going bigger than Abeloth (without a boatload of suck) and the way things seem to be gearing up its either the next book or old age.

I am shocked these authors had the testicular fortitude, as well as the talent, to introduce something greater than the jedi and sith. And seriously, if you look to why Jacen fell, it all comes back to Abeloth..

Perhaps after Abeloth is destroyed, he dies.

Abeloth already is a boatload of suck. Great idea, flawed execution.

Do we have a story thread? I was thinking in the EU section we could do a collective story thread. Meaning one of could start with an introduction to a story, and then each of us add a paragraph to the story, and we keep continuing.

IDK if that's what the RPG section is for, but this wouldn't be an RPG. It would be a continuing group fan-fiction

I think the entire LOTF/FOTJ series needs to bring a certain topic we had here a long time ago, back to life. My initial post was questioning whether or not Luke's and the Rebel's destruction of the Empire was a good thing in the long run. I adamantly argued that not only was it a catastrophe, but none of these other groups antagonists would have stepped up against the Emperor and his Empire. I'll find the thread in the EU section.

*gasp*

An Imperial Apologist. Hey we agree on something.

I tried to bring this up on TFN, but I was assaulted by like the entire forum.

Nevermind the monday morning quarterbacking but lets be honest here. For the 99% of the population registered in the empire, they lived normal, peaceful lives. No coups, no surprise attacks, nothing. I would feel like the most comfortable person on earth if Palpatine was the Emperor watching over the entire galaxy. Since he wanted absolute power, he wouldn't allow a damn thing to happen anywhere. That's a far cry for the plethora of BS that occurs right after the disintegration of the Empire. There would never be a Vong, a Lost Tribe, or a free Abeloth had the Empire stayed intact with Palpatine at the healm.

The New Republic and GA have also proven to be feckless and worthless. Like someone pointed this out at TFN, but how many chiefs of state have their been?

There has been no single personality that even begins to match the wit, farsight, and fear that Palpatine commanded. Abeloth may be a force god but she's also incompetent. One thing I've learned is that in this SW universe, you only need a pulse to plot galactic domination.

I find it ironic that the GA elected Daala to the position of Chief of State while all she could muster in the Empire of all groups is the commander of four Star Destroyers.

And that was with Tarkin's help.

DS, how does

Spoiler:
Grand Lord Vol die

Spoiler:
Roki Kem seems to be a popular senator but nobody (unless you're an idiot) knows that she's Abeloth. That includes the Lost Tribe. Vol comes to the planet to kill her and the next morning, Workan(2nd in command) gets a knock on his door. He opens it and sees Kem holding vol's decapitated head. Major pwnage.
