Quick question as I'm trying to understand waverider a bit more, damn you avalon you got me all into this guy I have never paid attention to.

Since waverider has total control over time would it be possible for him to duplicate Zooms powers or along those lines?

Yes, any of the Linear Men can step between seconds to appear faster than Flash.

This is what annoys me about SS. There is no proof that he can do something, but it's guesstimated and seemingly accepted as fact. Should marvel state it specifically as an official part of his powerset, or should somebody come up with irrefutable proof that SS has that kind of power then I'll gladly accept it.

That's the thing about SS - though he is my favorite character - that kinda annoys me to.
Surfer's power is, how can I put this, "connotative" more than "denotative." His powers can be stated in words, up to a point, but included is the implication/understanding that his powerset doesn't end with what is put into words. This does make it difficult to 1) know what his exact limits are (for fun purposes, as in forum debates); and 2) it makes story-telling either difficult or full of PIS.

Personally, I've always opted for a "simpler" Surfer - just as powerful (if not moreso) - but with far less versatility. Nix all that matter transmutation and time manip stuff. All he needed, really, as a planet-finder was cosmic awareness, bolts, shields (to further his already nigh-invulnerable form) to subdue resistant residents; and if we even limited his energy use to only when he's on his board, we further get rid of the paradox as to why he needs his board to fly. On the same token, he would show tremendous physical power and fighting skill when not on his board.

*sigh* well, it's a nice dream, anyway.

As for amping his strength...
If it says in his bio (in many bios: this has been consistent) that he can amp his strength to "incalculable" levels, then it is fair game, IMO, to assume he can do so, even if this has never been shown, likely because Surfer doesn't have to (Thanos aside); it's not his modus operandi.

I still agree that BFR is Surfer's best option for defeating DD. But I'm not sold on his getting curb-tomped otherwise, given the strength (and speed!) option. That he didn't fair well in h2h against Thanos, well, that has been considered as PIS by many.

And to be honest: I don't know if my version of Surfer would do as well against DD, given the removal of the BFR option. But pitting DD against a physically/martial-art capable Surfer would, I think, make for a much more exciting battle, comparable to Superman vs DD.

(yes, I'm dreaming again...)

Well said. The surfer you described already sounds like a far more interesting character.

OE even if it was weak didnt do that i dont think surfer has that juice to have anything close to the OE weak or not.

Matthew Ryder, Travis O'Connell, Liri Lee, Rip Hunter, and Waverider[Who is actually Matthew Ryder from another time/universe/hypertime/bla].

They watch over time from a place called Vanishing Point. And only make apperances typically during the most pivotol of times.

I wonder how Surfer would do against DOS DD. Prepowerup Surfer.

You mean after getting KTFO by his own board? Because if surfer fights in character like he always do against any doomsday, he would get his shit pushed in. Forum surfer is another story however.

Surfer should win.

Surfer wins. DD's stock has plummeted.

Typical comic Surfer that allows slow pokes like Thanos to 7 piece him would easily succumb to DD. But a smart forum Surfer might win through bfr.

Thanos is smarter than Doomday and more powerful. Bad comparison.

Smartness has nothing to do with quickness. Surfer was a super idiot for letting Thanos even close to him like that. In character he may do the same for DD and allow DD to 7 piece him too.
