I thought this was a funny video about the Dark Knight hype:

My review....

I loved the movie, Batman Begins is my fave movie and Dark Knight blew that away. That may sound like Im overreacting to the first time I saw it, but I remember seeing Begins the first time, it was nothing like this.

Joker of course, is fantastic. He is my new all time favorite villian, simply because he is unconventional. Aside from horror movie killers, all villains usually have a selfish goal behind their actions. Joker has no such goal, he simply does he what he does for fun. If he has a goal, it would be to show that everyone no matter how good can become like him, a nice nod to "The Killing Joke". I dont know if he will be nominated, but you wont find a more engaging character and performance all year. Last year the award for supporting actor went to a psychotic killer, I saw No Country For Old Men, and Joker would eat "Sugar" from that movie alive. One thing I loved, his appearances always seemed like a surprise, they never started a scene with Joker on screen, he always seemed to pop up from nowhere.

Everyone else in the cast is fantastic, Bale does a much better job pretending to be an arrogant playboy, and also does a lot more detective work as Batman. Gary Oldman gets a role 3x as big as the previous movie, and it really makes the movie much better. The Gordon character always seems to be caught between two opposite forces, whether its Batman and Joker, or Batman and Harvey Dent. Aaron Eckhart does a great job with what seemed like the most dialogue in the movie. His characters progression(which most Batman fans know) plays out very well side by side with Joker's game.

The action has improved a lot from Begins, no more shaky cam work. Explosions are constant and deaths rack up incredibly fast. The big chase scene involving the main three characters and the reveal of the Batpod had everyone in my screening clapping multiple times.

Visually the movie looks fantastic, especially the outdoor scenes with the IMAX cam. This is the most any Gotham has been shown in the daylight. The music is perfect for the movie, with loud heavy sounds and subtle creepy themes.

I absolutely loved the movie, its not the typical superhero movie in any way. The good guys get screwed every 5 minutes, main characters die, the situation doesnt seem to be much improved when the movie ends. Its ends with a fantastic setup for a possible third film, but doesnt end with a cheap cliffhanger.

If there are any complaints for me, it would be wanting more.

Spoiler:
I wanted more Scarecrow. I knew his role would be a cameo, but damn! I also wanted more TwoFace, I would of preferred a full movie with Harvey Dent and a full movie with TwoFace. That being said, the rise and fall of Dent is perfectly done in sync with Joker's schemes, so I cant complain too much.

can't wait now😐

I HATE YOU 😠

I HAVE TO WAIT AGES😐

Agreed on pretty much everything. You cant really 'expect' anything from this movie, it plods along then hits you in the face with a twist, then hits you again a few minutes later. I liked Harvey/Two Face, but I was assuming he would

Spoiler:
live to be in the next movie
so I was kinda like....'oh...thats all'. Not that Im complaining,
Spoiler:
I think killing him off was a smart move
, Two Face doesnt seem like the kind of villain who can carry on by himself like Joker does. Happy the way the Joker finished up in the movie, although disappointed knowing we wont see him again. I dont know if I rather he lived or died, if he died it would have offered closure, but if he lives he can come back (not like he will, but thats when my imagination comes in...).

I think the saddest part of the movie was Joker saying to Batman something along the lines of 'You and me, we can do this forever' near the end, because they could have, or would have in the next movie, but now it wont happen.

Kind of on the fence about the ending, it doesnt really open up to any new potential characters like Begins did, and wraps up most of the loose ends. I dont read a lot of Batman comics, but there doesnt seem to be any villains as interesting as Joker and Two Face while still keeping to the realism of Nolan's direction that they could use for a next movie. I hope if they do a 3rd one, they really pull something out of the bag.

True, a whole movie with two face might be kinda... i donno

it wouldn't match this movie, the joker is a tough act to follow

I want to see it again. So good.

I have to say though that Nolan gave me the two things I wanted most and fixed my two biggest gripes with Batman Begins

Spoiler:
he killed Rachel Dawes and blew up that ugly ass Tumbler. And I cheered aloud when both happened at my theater
which only made the movie that much more perfect for me. It would have been damn near flawless if Bale's voice was not so grating.

I'm seeing it again today 😱

I just think the TwoFace part of the movie went to fast, considering he was probably the most developed villian we have ever seen in a comic book movie. Considering the Spider-Man movies give the villians one sympathetic scene then they become the root of all evil. Joker's dialogue at the end was the only uncomfortable part of the movie involving Heath, because you could see the plan for that legendary Joker/Batman rivalry that we will never see now.

I like the ending, it didnt hint at the next villian, but it sets up a new dynamic.

Spoiler:
They were very lightly trying to "catch" Batman before, but now he is considered a cop killer. So I cant wait to see a Batman on the run scenario with hints of Bourne possibly.

BTW: I may have already said this, but the TwoFace CG is ****ing flawless. 😛

Would have been amazing if he were still alive till this day, to continue making batman vs joker movies 😬

I've got a feeling they could do a 'Hancock', catch him, stick him in jail until the people want him out, then he becomes the hero again. It would work so easily.

Two Face was good, but it was what he didnt do that annoyed me....everytime he flipped the coin I was thinking 'please be the bad side', just so it would give him something to do. I was hoping he'd shoot the kid to give it an emotional pull, but....no. weep

Oh hell yeah, the scene where he is asleep and you see the CG eye staring....that was awesome 😂

I loved the "Your driver" scene, that was so ****ing badass. I also thought it was cool how they teased TwoFace, you kept getting little glimpses while he lied there till the final reveal to Gordon.

I saw the movie last night at midnight.... when they finally got the projector working at 12:30!! Anyway, this movie was AWESOME. 10/10.

Every time Ledger was on screen, I couldn't help but get upset. He was so amazing, he was so immersed in this role that watching him do it made me upset knowing that whether The Joker lived or died, we would never see this again.

Top notch all the way through.

I bought the joker 1:6 figure for $125 ermm

Exactly how i felt, the whole time i was thinkin about how this would be the last time we would see Heath as The Joker and it made me feel pretty upset...but i couldnt help but be blown away by his dead on portrayal as The Joker Heath was a genius. He made The Joker completely viscious with absolutely no rules, not even for his own safety. He was funny at the perfect times, and terrifying and brutal for the rest of the movie. I loved this movie so much and its my favorite movie of all time 10/10.

Man I still can't get over Heath though. I knew he would be good, but he was so freaking amazing that...I'm very depressed we won't get to see more. It's like a cruel joke.

I just wanna know if

Spoiler:
two-face is dead or not

Mairuzu I was wondering the very same thing. I assumed he wasn't but now reading everyone else's opinions...I'm not sure.

I agree, I think two face could carry a whole movie with him... or at least be part of the next Villain group.... but the way it plays out in the movie... it fits the tone, and it serves the script.... though I don't like it that much... it was the way to go

I'm seeing it again tomorrow... with my gf... she says it can't top Iron Man... just wait till she sees it. She kept asking what happen, and I came so close to tell her, but I didn't wanna spoil it for her... it was tough though...

I thought that was brilliant, the way the characters builds up to that point... and when he explains he's twisted sense of justice...

"We each make our own luck" indeed

I actually never thought about Heath Ledger while watching the movie... I was so sucked in with his performance, I kept thinking I'm watching the Joker, and no one else... that's until the final Joker scene "We could go on with this forever", and that's where it hit me, Both Joker and Batman go at each other forever... but it won't be now without Heath.... 😐

speaking purely from a comic standpoint, no. but in movies they can always throw a proverbial 'wrench in the gears' whenever the hell they want.

so is he truly dead? meh, toss a coin [no pun intended]. jokedur
