Jack and lizzie

hmm here are a few confusing thoughts...
i think Liz is tired of men who are perfect and ALWAYS do the honorable thing. She wants Jack to be good but not too good...
I dont think she knows what she wants at all. She is just being piraty and trying to push the envelope and get away with whatever she can. I do think she wants Jack to be good at heart, (which he is) and she knows he is, but how good is good?
plus, like all women, she likes getting attention from guys. Jack is extremely charming and affectionate. Her self-esteem is probably all torn up being dressed all grunge and stuff, and not having Will constantly there making puppy-eyes at her, so she's wondering, even though I am "off the market" am i still desirable? can i still make men want me? etc. she gets a rush from it. then she stumbles into scary territory when she realizes her feelings for jack may be deeper than she thinks...

You just helped me undertsand it a whole lot better^^ lol

Its so true..This movie was about her not really knowing what she wants..it seems the pirate side is winning over though.

seriouly its like she is completley contradicting herself by saying he should be a good man but also wanting the kiss...

Like you said she doesn't REALLY want him to be an honest man like Will because she's obssesed with pirates. She knows he's good at heart but she also knew he still would have kissed her without a doubt after all, he is still a pirate..

They seem to know the ins and outs of eachother really well.

^^ Yes, I think that is an example of her not knowing what she wants...

And another thing I noticed about Jack through the first two movies, is that when someone askes him something, or he has to make a point about something, the less words he uses, the more honest he is being, the more words he uses, and the longer his explaiation is, he is telling less of the truth. that's something I have defiately noticed about Jack through the first 2 movies.

yeah i totally think that bogus line "i'm rpoud of you jack" is a big fat lie, just a cover up for her feelings of disappointment. If she's anything like me, she was probably thinking "am i ugly? why doesnt he just kiss me???" she's also feeling out just how much she can trust and depend on him. i think Liz had an inkling there would be some major drama up ahead, and like the pirate she is, she's just getting her guns in place.

Blackprearl44 thats a really good observation. When he's feeling honest he uses less words. When he wants to confuse the heck out of people to get away with something or if he's trying to convince someone to do something he talks so much crap lmao. When he was talking to liz he spoke very straight forward.

Except the curiosity scene I dont know if he was 100% sure she was going to come over to his side..he was babbling a bit...he was more or less hoping she would..he really wants her to..he's got a soft spot for her for sure.

and Katelovespirate I agree with you. Its like "Im behaving like you want...why didnt you kiss me?"

Also when she says "but seeing as you are a good man, I know you would NEVER do anything that would compromise my honor" the way she puts emphasis on these words makes me think she's being slightly...I don't know if "sarcastic" is the right word?? as if basicaly saying " yeah right..we all know you would"..and she's silently loving the thought that he would kiss her.

Yes, he is so smart, that when he dosn't want to tell the truth, he uses his intellegence and wisdom to mislead people, play mind games with them more or less. So you can really almost tell when he is being honest or not, by how long his point/explaination is, and how many words he uses....and when he talks to liz, he seems pretty straight forward.

oooo soooo true. its funny cause in the first film he is always trying to mind-game her, or avoid the truth, but then on the island she gets him to be straight forward and extremely honest. and after that, he pretty much does it all the time. except when he is flirting with her.

I also noticed something the other day whilst watching it. Liz seems to be in denial through most of the film. Jack is slowly getting to her and every time there is a moment between the two things get a little more heated and she lets her gaurd down. He has her under his thumb a little bit. She tries to win against him alot but fails... she kinda did beat him at the end lol. To me between these two it seems as if they enjoy having a little battles of wit. Its like who can beat who all the time..Liz lost every time aha. and in the end she finaly beat his ass and she couldnt get enough of it...either could he muhaha

It could explain why she looked so dissapointed when he didnt kiss her..I think could have been her trying to beat him at his own game and when he pulled away that meant she lost.

Or it might not mean that..

Because it seemed to me like she was pretty desperate to kiss him and she clearly wanted to kiss him again after she had chained him up. And iwould also make the compass/clinging to his leg/him becoming his hero stuff irelevant..which I doubt it was.

Yea, there is no way any of that stuff is irelevant. It's to important to the story.

Also if that curiosity scene was about her trying to get one over on Jack then him kissing her would not mean that she beat him (based on the sexual suggestion scene)..Kissing her would make him think he won and not her. If liz wanted to beat him then she would have pulled away. It would mean she tricked him into thinking he was about to get a kiss and it would have embarassed him about being caught off gaurd.

NOP she wanted that kiss for sure. She's just trying to copy jack by using her charms on him maybe lol. That was her getting a mini thrill out of being bad and or falling for Jack and his many attempts to woo her. lol.

Yea, she's starting to figure out Jack as far as his intelligence and wisdom that he uses to trick people, play mind games on them, and she's trying to do the same.

um i was just wondering why does Elizabeth cling onto jack's leg when he come back on the boat at the end?

and was Elizabeth actually happy when she said to him you came back. and then she said your a good man or did she just say that to kiss him and distract him just to chain him to the boat?

also in the next movie after they find or save jack what do you think liz will say to him like do u think jack will say something to her about the kiss?

kthnxx 🙂

I think she was desperate to kiss him but she also was desperate to do something bad she did both at the same time...she killed two birds with one stone. Throughout the movie..Jack was making her attracted to him with his charms and he was also making her enjoy being bad..He said to her "one day you wont be able to resist doing something bad" so she did both things she was urging to do and got a massive rush from it..lol

In the next movie I doubt jack will be angry at her..I'm sure he is used to being betrayed by people lol. I think he likes the fact liz did it to him because it means he has won her over and he has more of a chance with her now that she is on his level.

She clinged to his leg because he is basically her mentor/hero/teacher through out the movie and that was her basically clinging to her hero for support IMO

thanxx i really hope they do get together. but are will and liz gonna still get married? i cant wait till the 3rd one...but thats kinda far away 🙁

Well there is a rumour going around that the director has confirmed they will get married. But i cant see Disney giving away the ending to a movie this early on. If they did mention it then I doubt the wedding is going to be anything majorly important to the overall story. Maybe she will get married and realize she doesn't want to be.

still only a theory though.

eh, i wouldnt put it past them to throw in a wedding or two. disney loves weddings. drinks all around.
Liz really had her guns in a row. She knew Jack wouldnt refuse to kiss her--- they had both been "honorable" several times and pulled away, but she caught him in a moment of vulnerability. I think her line "this is the only way, dont you see?" has major double meaning... like... i want you, i want to be with you, but this is the only way. i've already chosen Will. I can't turn into a pirate." and then he's like, Oh wait, you just did...

yea.... i also really liked it wen he said pirate to her at the end.

I didn't hear that the first time I saw the movie. Good thing I saw it again. Heard it the second time around.
