I'm not kidding, this movie is modeled directly off of Empire, and looking at POTC:Curse of the Black Pearl, it bears a close resemblance to StarWars, at least in terms of characters, plot developments, etc...
It only stands to reason that POTC: At World's End will be like JEDI.

yeah i know DUH i just love thinking about these things... how jack wanted Liz to get away, wanted her to be safe, and probably would have stayed anyways.... and the amazingly sexy way he growls out the word "pirate"...

LOL EXACTLY!! he knew he could get away but he let her get the satisfaction. I think he would have run away..its not in his character to risk his life for unimportannt things..like a ship.

I dont know about the brother/sister thing..Its going to be about the Davy/Will simerlarity which makes Liz/Will split up In my opinion..The director said this is what we are going to see in the next one..the Will/Davy mirrored love story..that kind of thing didnt happen in Jedi..It happened in episode 3
everytime i watch it i feel differently about it.
this time, i was loving how close their mouths stay while she is talking... he doesnt pull away at all, he just stays there like, "well thats interesting, lets finish this kiss, eh?" and when he says pirate, its almost like, "well off you go love, dont back down now. it took a lot to get that word from me, you're so hott when you are betraying me, now off you go or i might change my mind" 🙂 it totally feels like a Jack finally Found His Foil moment there. Or like the Apprentice has risen to the level of the master... 🙂 so shockingly hott and intense and angsty.
I love how Liz really seizes her moment. She has been waiting for 2 things throughout the film: to get her hands on mr. sparrow, and she has been waiting to prove to him that she is as piraty as he thinks she could be. She sees her moment there and grabs it. nice.

She knew he could have gotten away yet she totally ignored that thought. . She wouldn't have gone that over the edge had she got the Kiss earlier 😂 It was so overdue.
Also before hans solo gets "frozen in carbonite"..like jack kinda does here cept its a squid. Hans KNEW leah loved him because she told him. Lucas has a silly habit of making the characters say what they feel all the time on screen. Seems like the director for this one made it more of a subtle hint that she loved Jack here and he loved her back. I think the whole missing hat..hat found thing resembles that he loved her.
i think that the only reason they added the whole jack and elizabeth thing was to add more conflict to the story. if they had left it out they story wouldnt have been as interesting. it also insures that alot moreppl will be coming back to see the 3rd one!!
plus (about the compass) its possible that all this love intrest between them too happened b/c liz thought she was interested in jack. everytime she looked at the compass she looks confused and suprised that it pointed to jack. and its also possible (that b/c the compass points to direction) that it was pointing to will it just so happens that jack was also standing in that direction. plus jack didnt seem interested in her at all. (of course he did alittle but not b/c he loves her) if u remember when he looked at the compass and it pointed to elizabeth he didnt think about her but made her move cuz the treasure was under her.

The loss of his hat is significant..and the fact Liz keeps wearing a similar one to him from the moment he first sees her is also significant..her character didn't need a hat at all so it could symbolise something else. the hat stands out when she wears it..its meant to canth the audiences eye. In my opinion its no coincidence that Jack's character is missing his hat throughout the movie and Liz's charcter is basically wearing it.its like a puzzle piece thats meant to fit together.
So basically to start with he's loses his beloved hat and it makes him feel incomplete. He wants it back to make him feel complete
The part in Tortuga where he didn't feel right trying on all the hats has a double meaning. Its also the point in the movie where his character is in a great state of confusion over what the compass is telling him he wants..he thinks its saying lots of different things (when its actually pointing to liz) He leaves with no hat..he didn't find the right one.
Then hello hello... Liz turning up looking like him but wearing a hat similar to his missing one symbolises that SHE is the missing part of him.

i think that the only reason that the question of who liz likes is even in the movie is to add more conflict to it. it is a 2 1/2 hour long movie that wound have been less interesting if that part wasnt added to it.
plus (about the compass) elizabeth only thought she liked jack. everytime the compass pointed to him she looked suprise. also, its very possible that (b/c the compass points out the direction) that it was pointing to will, it just that jack happened to be standing in the same direction. anyways jack wasnt interested in her. She showed that she had a soft spot for him before she even looked at the compass. When he suggested he have sex with her she walked away pretending to be shocked then it reveales she is secretly smiling about it.
Also the compass points to him before this. but that time it flew right past everyones heads..the characters heads and the udiences heads..its a moment where you realise what happened the second time you see it.
Will appeared from the sea in the end and when Liz was on the beach holding the compass it pointed south east AWAY from the sea towards jack. It was away from where Will approached the island.
Jack may not actually realise that he wants her just yet. It probably just flew right over his head. Also I think that last scene where he comes back was really meant to signify that he came back for Elizabeth more than everyone else. It revolved mostly around him coming to protect her as she clinged to the leg of her hero.

anyway, i think that that is a really good theory but this movie was ment for kids of all ages and i really dont think that (even tho it is a really good idea) that it really means all that.
Liz. wore the hat in the first place b/c she had to pose as a guy and not only did the hat help her cover up a little more but it also kept her hair up so they wouldnt know that she was a girl.
and aboutthe part were jack stopped trying on hats after Liz, well he was on a desrted island or on a boat, there really wasnt anyway he could try on other hats.
and not to seem rude but in the first movie (and second) they show two girls who had already been w/ jack and they suggested a one time thing. jack is a pirate after all and even though he suggested a couple of stuff i dont think that he really loves her.
of course they care for each other some wat b/c they had been througha lot together. but i guess we wont know til may
The movie is actually way more adult than most disney movies..its what made it so successful. Thas why it keeps breaking moulds by making Liz out to be a pirate ****..they have crows pecking out peoples eyes..a dog being eaten..they have tones of sexual refrences that fly right over the kids head..so why not add in deeper meanings if they already have the stuff stated above? Its going to draw in a bigger audience if its more than just a kids film..and it is..its success proves it. At the cinema when I went it was packed with adults and like 4 kids.
the first hat liz wore was NOT that hat..it was a straw like hat.
No that trying on hats was to symbloize that he wanst finding what he wanted..he was in confusion..Liz appears the confusion dissapears almost abruptly..he gives the compass to her and his problem is solved..
Liz is unlike those women becuase she basically got him back at his own game(jack seems to be the one who beats them all the time)..She has just become something more than the average woman to him. If he saw her as just the average woman then he wouldn't have let her get away with what she did at the end..He would have been trying to bargain with her to get out of it. yet he stayed silent and allowed her to continue..it meant that he had her at his level and he was willing to die to keep her there. He knew he could have escaped becuase he almost did before he decided to come back...the kraken attackes where it THINKS jack is it cant sense him. He also could have yelled to the crew members that she chained him up..yet he still remained quiet..Liz just totally rocked his world.
