Exar Kun vs. Yoda

And this is relevant to what? Oh wait lightsnake, more irrelevance.. Seriously why do I have to point that out in every thread?

Palpatine didn't lose because Vaapad was an unknown style alone.

And you know this because? Oh wait, you don't.. Palpatine overestimated him and he got beat.. And he didn't look too confident in defending himself.

Actually, it'd be because Mace kicked him in the fact...last time I checked, that's not a Vaapad manuever

LOL! This is your logic? Mace beat him using Vaapad.. Whether he sliced him in half or kicked him, he beat him using Vaapad. Your technical logic is incredibly illogical and obnoxious.

A...kick is a swordfighting manuever? That ain't Vaapad

Gee lightsnake, HOW did it come to that? Oh yea, Vaapad. With your logic, I assume Obiwan's form wasn't Obiwan's form when he sliced Maul in half, and Anakin's form wasn't Anakin's form when he decapitated Dooku... Wonderful logic lightsnake, truly wonderful.

....you're figuring this how?

And...Anakin's form when he decapitated Dooku was nothing more complicated than sPREAIDNG HIS ARMS....and since all those moves were done with lightsabers, I fail to see the logic.

Mace used his shatterpoint ability and took a shot...he was stalemating Palpatine with Vaapad according to the ROTS novelization. From Mace's POV

Great, and he was beating Dooku with Vaapad according to the movie. You can't just say "He wasn't using Vaapad" when he beat him. That's ridiculous logic. Hence the examples of how everybody else defeated their opponents, according to your logic.

Guys, he didn't use Vaapad against Sidious. He used a blend of Soresu and Schien.

The hell? All of a sudden he used a different form? Come on GM

What the hell....Mace beat him using Vaapad. Dont complicate things.

The script says Yoda disarmed Sidious. Are you going to say yoda uses shatterpoint? Dont be silly. Disarming or Killing is part of ones fighting style and how he approaches doing so.

Mace didn't use Vaapad because he feared the unpredictability of the result of two offensive forms such as theirs' clashing. He is shown in many cases to clearly be waiting for Palpatine to strike, he performs many times during their duel the classic Schien manoeuvres of channeling a block into an attack, examples of his passive stance during the duel is him moving away from palpatine while Palpatine moves towards him. He really wasn't utilising Vaapad, this has been confirmed and the books are extremely unreliable.

Hi common sense, meet the SW forum.

Shall I use the ROTs novelization? Vaapad turned the fight into a stalemate. The shatterpoint ability turned it into a win

Sure, and we'll go by the movies and logic.. So Anakin didn't win using his form, Obiwan didn't win using his form, Dooku didn't win using his form, and Sidious didn't kill the others using his form.. That's a nice way to use your technicality.

Considering Mace is the only one to throw a kick, your point's moot

Considering Mace won the fight, and used Vaapad to ALLOW himself to kick Palpatine, your argument died the second you came up with this nonsense.

How does Vaapad allow you to throw a kick? this should be interesting

Oh I'm sorry lightsnake, in a saber duel you can't poke someone's eyes out, kick them in the nuts, etc. Guess what, for all of your faulty logic, Mace's use of Vaapad is what allowed him to get the opening, so either way you lose.
