I already said how Ragnos would stop a plasma eel, he would use the enviroment... mounds of rock and dirt etc. etc.
Its pretty damn obvious that Ragnos died of old age, or else some disease. If he died in combat, then there would of been a new DLOTS.

The sceptor is powered by sith magic. It is just raw energy....or are you telling me that Vong are immune to energy weapons as well?
By putting mounds of dirt as a barrier, the plasma eel wont reach its target.
