Elizabeth blinks slowly and begins to sit up. Gibbs has returned.
Gibbs: There's no time to waste. We have to get off this ship before Beckett and Barbossa rouse their men.
The crew all begin filing out, still somewhat in shock. Gibbs runs over to Elizabeth and helps her stand.
Liz: What happened? Mr. Gibbs...
Gibbs: It doesn't matter, Miss... it's time to go. Please let me help you.
Liz: No... no. I'm fine. (she reaches to her side where she had been cut, but there is only a faded scar there.) WHere's Jack?
Gibbs: He's fine...
Liz: Mr. Gibbs. (Gibbs sighs heavily)
Gibbs: He went with HER.
Liz: Why? Why would he do that?
Gibbs says nothing, just glances down at Liz's new scar. She follows his eyes and then gasps. Gibbs takes her hand and hurries her up the stairs to the deck, where the rest of the crew have already loaded the long boat. Beckett, Barbossa, and their men are no where to be seen. However, at the moment Gibbs and Liz are about to enter the boat, Will comes running toward them.
Will: Elizabeth! Stay here. You'll be safe if you stay...
Liz: I'm safe no where, Will. And least of all with you...
She says this softly, without anger, as she climbs into the boat. Will stares after her, at the crew and his father, but retreats into Beckett's cabin.
Kate, you are a genius! I love the twists and turns you give this story. Do you write much? And the she's a pirate line, classic.
Will: Where is Jack?
Gibbs: (sighs, remember, the crew doesn't really know it was Will who sold them out) Off with the wench that calls herself goddess.
Will: Calypso? (very confused, looks at Liz) What happened?
Liz: Is it enough proof for you that he is a pirate and a good man?
(Will marches off with a crazed look, only his father follows him)
Will (screaming): Calypso! Calypso! Where are you? You wanted to get to know me? A trade! (falls to the floor sobbing) Why do they all prefer Jack to me?
Bill: What are you doing? Get up! Jack rescued us all.
Will: A downright hero now, isn't he? Calypso! Take me instead!
Bill: William. Stop it. (shakes him)
Will: This is the only way. Jack can come back and do whatever he likes to Elizabeth, and I'll cut out my heart and Calypso can use me just as she did Davy Jones. She finds me attractive, you know
Bill: William! Son (Will finally looks him in the eye) What's a man without his heart?
Will: But... (losing confidence in his idea) It's just...I can finally save Elizabeth. I can bring her back the man she loves, and without a heart, it won't be able to break when I let her go.
(Bill doesn't say anything, but wraps his arms around his son)
Bill: Don't, Will. A broken heart is a broken heart, but no heart. Do you know what no heart is, Will?
(Will shakes his head, tears falling)
Bill: Nothing. You would have nothing.
Will had joined them after a while and the boat set sail.
Elizabeth sat as far away as possible from Will. She watched the water ripple as the oar struck it. She was stroking her scar. As the boat went over a high wave, her jacket caught in the way of her hand as it stroked her scar. Pulled out of the trance, she touches the jacket and feels something in the pocket. Confused she pulled it out.
She opens her hand to find the compass sitting in her palm. Opening it up, she sees the needle swing until it rests facing north-west....
Everyone has stopped after noticing her open it.
She looks up at them all. "I set off on a mission to find Jack, i'm still on it.........Tia may have won this battle, but she still has the war to fight"
The crew all nod, and turn in the direction of the compass.
Liz turns to stare at the water, her voice full of defiance she whispers "You've rescued me once to many Jack, Now it's my turn to rescue my heart."
oh man guys this is intense. it just gets better and better.
WHAT are we going to do with Will? I honestly don't know whats going to happen.
and WHO is going to write the liz/jack sex scene? C'mon guys, as long as we are writing it just for fun, someone has to throw one in. 😄
Cut to Jack and Tia Dalma, on a ship. Jack is gazing off into the distance.
Tia: I never put you down as one to go all noble at the end, Captain.
Jack: Me either.
Tia: What made you do it?
Jack: What makes a man do anything?
Cut to Barbossa and Beckett still aboard their ship, in the cabin.
Beckett: Well, that was rather a mess.
Barbossa: At least we got the girl.
Beckett: You know as well as I do death is anything but final.
Barbossa: When is the rest of your armada due to arrive?
Beckett: Within the day. It won't be long before the pirates are destroyed and the oceans are safe again.
