No clue. Newsarama loved it though. One of their reviewers said that final page surpassed Wolverine swearing vengeance on the Hellfire Club at the end of Uncanny 133... which is complete rubbish.
That line made me cringe. I wished SS would just appear out of nowhere and slap Cyclops when he said that.

It was sucktastic for sure.

ppl should just litghten the **** up and enjoy the ride

I'm glad Wolverine isn't used too much in AXM.

It reminds me of how it used to be, he always was a very cool character, but he never got that much face-time to begin with; he was there to do what the other X-Men couldn't and provided a bit of cynical, comic relief.

In AXM he does exactly this, for once he's not the focus of the book and is much more of a team-player, I still enjoy having him there though just because he gives some of the best one liners and he really completes a very memorable X-Men line-up.

To say Whedon has been mischaracterizing him is criminal.

While I do agree that Astonishing is a bit overrated, I still think that it is, with out a shadow of a doubt, the best X title in close to twenty years.

That last issue was pretty predictable though... and that Silver Surfer line at the end was almost lame enough to eclipse Cyc's bad-ass moment. I swear, I threw up in mouth a little when I read "To me, my x-men."

The "to me, my X-men" thing is Xavier's old (and extremely creepy) line. It doesn't really make any sense though since it could only really symbolize him taking charge in some way.

I haven't bought this arc, I'm waiting for the trade but I haven't read a bad review of it ✅

It's crappy when Xavier says it because it's like "To me, my X-Men" because he can't be arsed to wheel his lazy ass over to them.

But when Cyclops says it? Badass.

........you clearly don't read much wolverine then or at all.

He misses with wolverine at every turn.

also Logan was never written the way your saying he was. The closest he was ever written to this was his claswsic days prior to him being written with a healing factor.

making Logan go in reverse is far from being a good characterization of him.

this makes me laugh. I mean even whedon admits he really has no clue how to write wolverine and he not good at writting his character.

No, you obviously haven't been reading any GOOD Wolverine.

What are you afraid of? Someone actually writing him realistically for once? Rather than this bastardized version running around that you seem to love so much.

Why wait for the trade?

Cheaper.

But it takes away sales from the regular issues. And you can never be 100 percent sure there is going to be one.

For something like Astonishing? Yeah, you can.

Marvel trades everything. it's the smaller publishers like image and Dark horse you have to worry about...

Maybe so but it still takes away money from the regular. I have seen lots of series canceled because people only buy trades etc and not the whole series. One reason obviously among others.

you think classic x-men wolverine was good.............the one who did not even have a healing factor..........or even had described powers........ya thats real good wolverine there.

I own every issue of wolverine aside from issue one and three of blood sport.

I know what good wolverine story is. Good characterization of wolverine would have to be on of miller original takes on the character. When they showed Logan ninja/samuria side.

Logan being comic relief.........is far from good writing for wolverine

whedon was being honest

I've seen lots of series re-esntated because the trade sales were so high aswell. 😬

It works both ways.
