So I was reading more about the Yi situation, and they are saying it has nothing to do with marketing (which I still don't believe that since they wanted a higher asian market before). But their new reason isn't much better (hell, it may be worse). They say that the Bucks have too many players like Yi so they are affraid he won't get enough development and that would be bad for their 'precious' national team. The thing is, the Bucks are a crappy team. If they don't think he will get enough playing time because of the players already on that team, that doesn't speak well on Yi's behalf. If he can't make it on the Bucks, where would he?

Marbury says he is going to play in Italy when his contract expires in two years. He is calling the move Beckham-like. I just found the funny though because Beckham is arguably the biggest name in his sport while Marbury isn't even close. I for one will not miss Marbury. Btw, could Marbury get a team in a weaker league to their playoffs? 😆

Isn't Marbury a has been? His skills have greatly diminished, haven't they??

I guess you could say that, but I simply never thought he was that good.

And the people in charge of the Chinese national team are really pissing me off. They now have publicly criticized Yao Ming for doing too much community service and planning his wedding rather than preparing to play for the national team. Here are a few of the quotes from them: "No matter how lofty public welfare activities are, they can't be allowed to take first place in a player's life," "No matter how sweet personal life is, it can't be compared to the exultation of capturing glory for one's nation."

They might as well say, "We don't care what our citizens want, we own them. All hail China!"

I assume its just who they are. You cant really look at the Chinese and the way they operate from an North American perspective.

Well, I still feel that their values are out of place if they care more about basketball than family and the less fortunate.

Yea, I don't know, they have a different culture than us. I don't like how they are handling Yi, but the statement about Yao Ming might have been taking out of context. I think they were just trying to say that Yao has forget where has come from, but in a Chinese diplomatic way.

But the stuff about Marbury is entertaining, are they gonna sell Starbury's there too.

About the Yi situation, that is different but with Ming, I agree with Wutu, it might of been taken out of context.

Pervis Ellison, the number 1 overall pick in the 89 draft was the coach of the team I played against tonight. I think his son was on the team, and I'm assuming his son is the best one who scored like 36 points against us, but we won in OT.

Well, here's the full story if you haven't read it.

We can all make our own judgments, but it still pisses me off. The Wang Zhizhi part is also interesting.

Francis is going back to Houston. My how time has changed things. At one point Francis' value was enough to trade for T-Mac.

Yep, I'm sure.

How can he get them to the title?

It won't.

Myth, are you active on Insidehoops Forums?

I thought the Rockets were contenders before, where do you think they rank in the West now?

The Rockets will be where they have always been on the outside looking in. Francis isn't going to make any sort of difference.

We got Mihm back.

I saw the reference on here and checked it out. Now I've signed up. It took a couple of days for the verification stuff through my email so I forgot to mention that I am on there now. Seems like a good site. This one and that one should each have their advantages (that one has a ton more NBA stuff but so many members that you don't get to know each one's personality as well). But yeah, I'm starting to be active on there. So far I mainly check out the Blazer section and the main NBA section.
