Even if we accept your notion that there is a designer of the universe and human life, what reason, outside of biblical or religious tradition or teaching itself, is there to believe in the Christian god over Thor or Allah?

Evidence that you are not the uncaused cause would take very little effort to procure.

The Christian God has provided the most plausible, credible, rational, logical, and sensible explanation as to where life and matter came from than Thor, Allah, or any other inadequate contenders. The record of the Father God, and His Son Jesus Christ's love and sacrifice for the world is not heard of in any other "religious" work. There is not one other account of God loving humanity (His creation) so much that He gave His only Begotten Son (Whom He loves dearly) that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. This gospel (i.e. good news) occurs in no other book on the face of this earth. No other Book is as historically accurate and spiritually enlightening to the human soul as the Bible. What you read in the Bible concerning the origin of life is reflected wonderfully in this world. There is amazing congruency and agreement with the things that the Bible reveals and with what scientists have been able to test pragmatically. Scientists have confirmed repeatedly the things that the Bible reveals. Scientists are discovering more and more evidence for intelligent design as based on the Bible.

but in my opinion, there is still the belief that truth about the universe can be assertained through evidence and logic. I personally believe this as well, however, what if all material reality is just the illusion of the brain in a vat 😉

It's funny how the only thing Atheists have a problem with is religion, yet people who aren't Atheist have a problem with virtually everything.

Christians: Gays, Atheists, Christians etc
Muslims: Gays, Jews, Muslims etc.
Agnostics: Atheism, Fundamentalism, Government etc.

Atheists: Religion.

Obviously we're the most peaceful.

Edit: It's funny how mathematically simplistic the results of the survey are. So simple you could convince lots of people that it's true.
