Ion vs Phoenix

Rachel with the help of X-Men understands, she shouldn't destroy the Universe.

While Rachel still has a portion of Beyonder's power, he says:

"Except PERHAPS Phoenix, you are less to me than the Amoeba is to you"

Beyonder's goal was to make Humanity one with the Universe

This is funny,

even with the Power Beyonder gave her, which made her the Phoenix Force and Beyond,

"you are what you are solely because I will it"

"therefore, I require the return of what is rightfully mine, in full"

That's the Beyonder talking about the Power he gave Rachel.

This is the scan you were talking about:

"All that Phoenix experienced..the totality of Life, in ALL it's forms...is now his"

This has nothing to do with her power,

but with how precious even one life is,

Beyonder was overwhelmed by the beauty of Mortal life, even ones that are like less than an Amoeba to him.

Which is why Storm say's:

"We each have our little lives, our destinies, our unique paths to walk"

"I find myself, envying your Humanity...your race is trully blessed"

Then Beyonder decides to become Death for a while, and takes Phoenix on a trip through Time and Space to teach her a lesson.

On another occasion she tries again.

i've read the series, but don't let that stop you from condescending me. i would still like to know how that scan DOESN'T constitute overpowering.

Yea, after giving it some thought, I'll recant my statement.

Cyclops was the only one speculating about what Jean did before she was killed by the Shiar blast.

The Watcher was retelling the story like it was being played out on a screen for him.

So I'll take the Watcher's word over Cyclops.

The What If is a trade paperback too.

And it's not Classic X-Men, just Cyclops talking at the end, vs the Watcher retelling an event word for word while he's observing it unfold before his eyes.

What If's are a joke, don't get me wrong,

but right Before they become a joke, the Watcher appears in the beginning and tells the original story, then, it becomes garbage as soon as he begins to tell the tales of the Alternate reality.

i'm not waffling. i know ion wins, i've known that since the beginning. i've never said otherwise. but this thread isn't so much about who wins as much as it is a phoenix smear campaign.

young ones... 🙄 ...to many you're very young, extant. and the only vocal phoenix fanboy is GS. besides which, he's not even a fanboy: he uses logic, even if you don't happen to agree with his conclusions.

under the impression doesn't come into it. beyonder attempts to make rachel stop, and she does not. he attempts to turn away, but he can not. for at least those three panels, beyonder is under rachel's control. how can you deny that?
