It's obviously well within the parameters of his powers to control the iron in blood considering he's done so numerous times.

And it doesn't matter if something is ferromagnetic or not. Magneto has taken control of PLASTIC before.

Adamantium is NOT magnetic, but Erik is able to tamper with objects on a molecular level... as evidenced right here:

He didn't even have his force field up at the time. He lowered it to absorb the energy from the lightning she tried to strike him with. That's when she created the hurricane. 🙂
