Nah, I said the actual Concepts the M-bodys represent, were unaffected.
The life-force/consciousness of a Concept, (M-body) is not the same as the Concept itself.
Maelstrom killed the Anomaly's Life-Force/consciousness, (M-body)
but the Concept it represented lingered, and Maelstrom usurped that position.

A little trivia on the Beyonders' reason for creating Cosmic Cubes.
Skrull scientists spent thousands of years looking for a means to convert thought into reality. Eventually, the scientists discovered that by opening a portal to the dimension of the Beyonders and capturing the energy released in a cube of force they could create a device which could alter reality. By holding the Cosmic Cube in their hands, they could do anything they wanted. The Beyonders allowed the Cosmic Cube to be created from their energy so that they could better observe how intelligent beings would react to the ability to control their own evolution.

That's where the "Those who sit above in Shadows" reside.
It's unclear what exactly is the nature of these beings,
but we know they are in some way related to Asgardians,
they are more powerful than Asgardians,
but they are seemingly trapped within their Realm,
and they seemingly influence the destiny of Asgardians in some form.
