Good detective work, Kate. T&T have also said several times that there is no rule stating that Elizabeth can't find some loophole to see Will and they guessed she'd be able to find a way to be with him before his ten years were up. That in itself suggests a storyline they were toying with. But you're right. No one likes how this ended and nothing is resolved.

Then I don't think of Jack's action as heroic as I did before. The only saving grace I can think of now for why Jack would do such a thing is because he is so afraid of death, that he believes now he should stop his friends from dying at all costs. Maybe he figured Will would go to a Locker-like state. And plus Davy Jones had to be destroyed. At least Will won't be any pirates' enemy since he pretty much is one now. But, grr, that was a stupid thing to do. And you can't tell me he's that selfish to do that to Elizabeth. I would have found some other way and taken his body to a witch doctor or somebody to get it resurrected like Barbossa's. Barbossa came back no strings attached simply because he had a Piece of 8 (which was Ragetti's anyway so it didn't matter) but Will is cursed forever because of some stupid thing Calypso made up? Psh, I say: let them all die at sea. It would be better than to be forever sailing the same ship with the same people year after year with one chance to go to land every ten years...and if you don't have anyone to see, what are you going to do in that time? Spend it drinking? I think if Will picked me up and asked me to serve on the Dutchman, I'd ask him to take his neat little sword and finish me off.

Well as has been said before...the movie ...the finished product that T and T and Gore delivered to us was just wrong. None of it makes sense...just senseless plot holes...like how on earth does Barbossa have a peice of eight when he was nothing more than Jack's First Mate.........

the list goes on and on....I don't think it makes Jack less heroic...in his mind he is thinking "do I stab the heart and be immortal forever and never have to die myself....or do I let Will stab the heart...better he stab it and be immortal then lost forever....."

remember Willo.....T and T have made no sense at all throughout the two sequels...we thought they were making sense...but then all was lost in AWE - no script, no real plot...bunches of loose ends...a total mess!

Tia Dalhma has tunred into a sea goddess again..I guess, last we saw of her she grew to a 50 ft. Giant that dispressed into millions of crabs and then became a gigantic whirlpool in the ocean.....so, is she still capable of bringing back Will as she did Barbossa? Why is Jack so afraid to die....I mean he went to Davy's locker and was brought back to the real world and is now alive and breathing...so why can't it happen again.....so, why not let Will die and go back rescue him from the locker....see, none of it makes sense....none of it. The entire trilogy has been tarnished by the stupidity that was AWE.......it's a mess, really...a real mess....and it had so much potential. I've never ever known a movie that was so disgombobulated in my whole life.

But then, once again, the curse makes no sense. Why was Davy Jones so pissed that Tia wasn't there after 10 years? I mean, the film made it sound like that was what had determined that Davy Jones was stuck on the dutchman for the rest of his life. I don't think he would have cut his heart out and made life hell for so many people just because he missed 1 opportunity of sex. There was more to it than that. So if Liz is faithful, Will ought to be freed, right? Or does that just mean he doesn't turn into a sea creature?

Exactly...another plot hole that makes no sense. The entire curse makes no sense. I really think t and t had to be od'd on crack or something.
In DMC in Tia's cabin we learn that Davy carved his heart out and locked it away in a chest because the pain was not worth living with...and that he was cursed to stay at sea for 10 years and can only step on land once every ten years.........but then in AWE we find out that if Will or Jack stab the heart...they have to take his place.....because the dutchman must have a captain, stab the heart be the captain, huh?
So, When Jack helps Will to stab the heart, Bootstrap carves out his heart and puts it in the chest...but why i ask....supposedly the only reason Davy had to do that was because he was heartbroken because his love was not there when he returned in 10 years.....the sea goddess had chosen Davy to ferry lost souls to the afterworld.....it was a kind and heroic duty bestowed upon him, but he turned cruel when she was not there waiting for him...

OH My Gosh..I am confusing myself..because there is no way to understand this mess....... 🙁 😠

We really need the AWE commentary. I'm sure T&T will do nothing but justify their writing and make audience members out to be total idiots for not understanding a lot of key things like 50 foot women disappearing from camera, but at least we will know their intent. I really do envision them butting heads with Gore a lot since they stress a highly complex series and Gore basically says it's swashbuckling fun all the time. I'm sure the shipping wars ended okay, and obviously the curse wars have ended too with Disney deciding to teach kids that yes, marriage and committment are good things, but no, being together isn't and things like sex and kisses will lead to punishment, especially if you're a coming-of-age girl.

Diva!

Just wanted to say I loved your story - you should be very proud! *huggles*

Haha Willo, so true. I reckon T and T will do their fair share of audience-bashing.

i think i was with Gore right from the begininng... i would rather the film had remained a swashbuckling good time than end like it did. sick.

Not buying the hat, but the dress is actually very pretty.

haha... that one is actually very well made. i love that dress... though it stands against reason Keira would actually fill it out that way on top. the colors and fantastical feeling of the picture is really sweet, though... i love the bird flying by. it sort of looks like a perfume advertisement.

Miz Savvy, no, didn't create manip (by the way what the heckydo is that exactly?). I was referring to the picture of me (<not>😉becos the young lady there is soooooooo beautiful (as I was imagining myself except for the elephant bosums--the "lady" is a might chesty to actually be me)!LOL

Manip=manipulation? As in my face on oh, Angelina Jolie's bod? Or two characters heretofore not groping, but somehow altered stance to be embracing? That's where some of the neato banners come from with Jack and herself?

Yep, a manip is a photo manipulation - exactly what you described. Manips of Jack and Elizabeth are the best - I've got a bunch saved on my comp - want me to do a Lovethemtigers ( 😉 ) and post them?

Oh, I wish I looked like that too! Yeah, she's way to chesty for me too - I'm more like Keira (although you all probably didn't need ot want to know that, lol).

You're right, Kate! It *does* look like a perfume ad. I saw this manip once before (a long time ago) where it showed the before and after...hm...there is a line of credit at the bottom, but I can't read it once I magnify it - can anybody else make it out?

the text at the bottom is just a website.

i love this manip, though. i think it's my favorite one that I've seen. I feel like it should be the promo for someone's fanfic. or of course, the new perfume, "freedom", or "kiss of death", or something...

The young pirate really sells the Come in Come hither doesn't she? I'd buy that perfume--spicy? And the stories she has to share...my bet is she knows Capt'n Jack, though not as well as she might like.

Some of the man/art lady Pirates are too hooting funny--Like Vargas girls meet cool pirate clothes. I like the colors in this one, strong but subtle, red, black and white can get a little overbearing.

LOL true!
