I don't know guys, look at that picture, is it romantic? For me it looks more like if she had realized she had done something comletly wrong and telling him, perhps just my opinion?
Miz Jacky, the photo you posted is high connected IMHO --that whole beach scene was about the tail end of being hands on hotcha hotcha with your partner--there's a fulcrum point (means teetertotter)in being physical where you just don't need to be "jazzing" up what you're feeling--he doesn't kiss her knee, he merely caresses and smells, breathes her in--her face lets you know she' s rocket to the moon again just over that becos they've "befriended" (hooked up, spent, big O'ed) so many times, that they are super sensitized to one another's skin, heat, taste, smell, sexuality--they are getting ready to separate for 10 years, that head press is the epitome of what has gone on for hours? Like I know this person so well....I find this love scene to be very touching personally, not to do with the pair so much as the expression of what they have shared. Is it what I think Jack and Elisabeth might have experienced, no, their resolution would have been so different--I just like how the beach scene played out, very sexy stuff (like the old movies, with only the illusion of ...). Just my thinking, that's all innuit?
@ Pirate Diva: I'm so sorry,luv, I hadn't have the intention of making you sick! But thank you so much for the smile foto!!!!
@ texgodiva2s: I don't know, can't think about this scene, because evertime I watch the movie, my brain somehow blinds out this scene. What I personally hate is, when Will goes away without kissing her again, if she wouldn't have run after him and kissed him, he would have gone without the kiss. I don't know, perhaps it should be easier for him, but honestly if I wouldn't see my wife/husband for ten years I would kiss the hell out of him as long as I have the time to do it, don't you think?
Tex, that was very well put and I understand exactly what you're saying. It is a beautiful scene in spite of the pairing. It's hard for me to watch because I hate being separated from my husband.
The only guess I can come up with as to why Will wouldn't kiss her goodbye is the same logic as why he didn't kiss her in their jail cell scene. Kissing her goodbye would be like admitting he may never see her again. Will's thinking may be that he wants to hold off on that so he can look forward to a time when he can kiss her as much as he wants to. That's the best I can come up with. I don't feel like I "know" Will as well as the other characters.
Back to sparrabeth, To Freedom, I hope POTC 4 will make us all feel better, but I have my doubts about it.
Okay, as weird as this is, I'm headed over to Willabeth just becos I'm going to be nice (means true to this topic) if it harelips the governor...so meet you, Miz WilloftheWisp and ImpPiDiva and/or anybody else interested in palathering bout "that scene" 'at the corner in a half an hour'--don't know who taught me that one, but it'll do in a pinch.
Miz WilloftheWisp, we learned when I was a younger, a phrase to describe those ones worth keeping: True blue odie colodie. Have no idea of how it came, what it might be, however, you are of that tribe, as is your sweetheart and to boot, protected as God's little babies in His hands. More love or magic, piratical or otherwise, I do not have to offer.
This sums what I feel Sparrabeth is about--a molecular connection between Jack and Elisabeth, like, (since I strongly believe in reincarnation--this isn't really open for discussion, simply is my belief, above and beyond my polictics or religious upbringing) they have known each other for many other lifetimes. They are in this incarnation, lovers, but in other lives, they've been brother/sister, mother/father/child, twins...who knows. Lives entwined. Innuit wonderful?
You can't lean into a kiss, a contact with the intensity they have without there being an internal vibration that is old, steady, and ever present. It's that human tuning fork vibration. Such are my beliefs that lead me to my thinking and dedication to....

and Kate...yes, after the tender scene we would need a light-hearted scene....maybe Jack and Liz are drinking rum again together at some point after he has healed....Liz tells Jack she must learn to dance for her wedding....so he says that he can teach her...and we see them start to dance...."one, two, three"....we can see laughter and them having fun...but then when he dips her and pulls her back up close to him we see an tense moment where they are mouth to mouth....(the teaser kiss)...and then jack pushes her away and says "I'm sorry Miss Swann...forgive me, I got a little carried away. I forgot the last kiss you kissed a Pirate it was just a form of distraction..there's only one man you want to be kissing and it's not this said Pirate...." and he storms out of the cabin....Liz is left gaping at him and we see the big look of confusion and disappointment on her face...and she talks to herself "I really need to stop spending so much time with him and stay focused on Will and how much I love him and how I want to marry him....right?" or somthing to that effect.
Holy crap, this was on page 1 of this thread and I had wanted so badly to remember who wrote it. It was Tigers! You should write more often!
Ha- that seems like a liftime ago Willo....I wrote a few more scens like that but I'm not sure if they were on this thread or another one. Remember our first fan-fic type story we wrote on here and I did the scene where Jack and Lizzy have just made love and they are called back on deck in a hurry..and Jack comes up top with his shirt on backwards and his boots on the wrong feet...or something to that effect! Those were the blissful days. I'm trying not to spend so much time on here and spend more time focusing on my husband and my family. But alas, I always come back here for some R and R....
here is Chapter 5 of gealuv's Sparrabeth: The Tragic Love Story - a video diary...

TIGERS!! tIGERS, TIGERS TIGERS TIGERS!! I wanna be family too!!
I've only known you for a year, however, I miss ya--I think of you just about everyday becos I listen to the music from PotC and particularly the song where Captain Jack salutes the hung pirates and there you are. PotC, the soundtrack has been my cleansing/protection ritual and that means you.

Oh thank you Tex! I think about all of you daily too! And it's fitting that you think of me when Capt Jack salutes the Pirates...because that's absolutely one of my fondest shots of Johnny as Jack...I love it! If you look on the lovefest thread that I started nearly two years ago...you will see that that is the first picture I posted to get the thread going! I don't have the soundtracks but I listen everyday to my homemade cd's from limewire...I have so many...and they are songs I've found on youtube of Sparrabeth vids and the ones TMaria and I made....I have DMC Vol. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, the Best of POTC Vol 1, then AWE Vol. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6! and then I have a transition cd of DMC/AWE...crazy I know...but I love all the songs that remind me of Sparrabeth! I listen to them as I walk and I get so engrossed in them imagining the videos or possible vids I'll walk for over an hour!
OMG TIGERS!!! I do that too. i have playlists of sparrabeth and when i listen to the songs the videos simply play in my head or if i'm reading a romance or watching a movie that is particularly sparrabeth like...my head just goes and pictures it all in POTC format.
It's like a disease my friends and after 2 years and a bit i've decided i need to be cured. how do i manage that now? get back to me *runs off to ff.net to read some sparrabeth*
Interesting. I was skimming the Keep to the Code boards for some variety and look at what I found posted by someone named CuriosityLove:
DISCLAIMER: I don't know if these are true or not. This is just what the person posted.
"I also recall a few lines exchanged between Will and the parrot...
Parrot: Don't eat me!
Will: I'm not even hungry.
Parrot: DON'T EAT ME!
Will: Look you're nothing but feathers and bones and bones and you probably taste like... Pigeon
[parrot goes silent, hurt]
Will: Sorry. That was uncalled for-- [steps closer] Listen, if anyone should ask, tell them Will Turner, against his better judgement, went into the jungle in search of Jack Sparrow. Understand? [pause] I'm talking to a parrot...
Parrot: Aye, aye, sir!
Haha! In one of the easter eggs on the DVD, you can see part of this scene in there.
~~
Interesting... Found these in the draft on Wordplayer.
Jack: Due to be married. To a lovely young lady. You hate that malarky.
Davy Jones: Sparrow. Might this be a lady you are interested in for yourself?
Jack: Not remotely...But I could be if it helps make a deal.
~~~
As well as this...When Will arrives on Isla Cruces... I chuckled because it is so... Random.
Elizabeth: Will! You're all right! I came to find you!
Will: I'm fine, I'm fine, I know. I like your hair.
Why in the world would he comment on her hair of all things?
And later in the scene, as the men begin to bicker over the chest:
[to Norrington]
Will: You look awful.
Norrington: Granted. But you're still naive. He just wants Elizabeth for himself.
Jack: Pot. Kettle. Black."
Isn't that last one so telling? Isn't it all 3 guys openly admitting they want Liz? That's why I love this series. All the time, there are all these new complexities surfacing.
Yes I know!! There's always a bit more there...I love the deleted scenes that are found in the novel. Beckett thinks Jack wants Elizabeth, there's a first draft when Will tells Jack Elizabeth is the only person he looks out for, Jack trades Elizabeth for the Pearl(his true love if you ask me) and then Jack lets Will stab the heart after Elizabeth says the magic word 'please'.
Sorry for the double post, but this HAD to be here. This is straight from the horse's mouth...Ted Elliot's mouth in fact.
"...he [Jack] was thinking of a lot things; in fact, he wanted a lot of things -- the key and/or the chest, to name a couple. But on the list of all things he wanted, fighting it out for the number one and number two positions were: Elizabeth; and to be as far away from Elizabeth as possible."
Bam! Our proof, ladies! We were right about everything.
Honey if we knew the cure we'd all be cured by now but apparently we keep comin back for more! We sharing that Sparrabeth diesease with ya hun! lol....and even if I knew the cure I dont think I ever want to be cured!! I love Sparrabeth and i'll never regret that! 🙂
*takes off imaginary hat* sparrabeth i the only disease i willingly have! as a matter of fact i think the word sparrabeth should become an actual word...
willo...i agree...if u want someone enough not to want them than that's pretty serious, as a matter of fact i remember discussing just that on wordplayer and the thing is that...what he wants most is both Elizabeth and not to want Elizabeth(be as far away from her as possible) so the compass was spinning round and round!!!
in the DMC commentary when jack is rowing away from the pearl and looks at the compass the writers discuss the fact that they let johnny's expression decide where it was pointing. ted says that he thinks it's actually pointing to land (jack decides to be a good man despite that) and terry says: "well *I* think the compass was pointing to the same thing all along...well I won't say"
if i could only hear the rest of that sentence i would want nothing until xmas!
