Oh Ted and Terry drove me nuts in the DMC commentary...they never agreed on much! It's like they were divided shippers themselves! lol....I bet you we owe that Sparrabeth kiss to Terry....i think he is a Sparrabether....and if that's true then I think Terry should get the bigger paycheck bc that Kiss was Genious!! Not only did it help make the movie reach the Billion Dollar Mark, but it also managed to make complete obsessed fools of us (and there are millions of us), set off probably one of the most controversial romances (love triangle) of all times, and inspired the curiosity in people to go watch AWE to see what happens between Jack and Lizzie and make AWE an instant success as well (despite the way it ended)!!!

Seriously Sparrabeth was the best thing that could have ever happened to the Pirates Trilogy!!

I do totally agree with you. I saw DMC four times in the cinema and after the disappointing ending of AWE I couldn't go and see it another time. (alright now I can)
Everyone was curious how the third part would continue and for me it was the worst thing that they have left out all conversations between Jack and her. That was as well a part I loved in Pirates 1 and 2. It just seemed to me that the third was just to fill time, show battle scenes. I missed it. Even if Jack wouldn't have forgiven her (what he'd never do) it had been a good thing to show.

I know!! i didn't even want a sparrabeth ending in AWE...i just wanted a GOOD movie. like COTBO...and sometimes I wish they'd just left it at that. then they had to make DMC and ruin the whole thing with AWE...
AWE...i tried to love it. there were moments i actually liked...and then some..

It's an old topic that always demands new discussion, hence the popularity and lasting power of this thread. The POTC KMC gals range in ages, actually. I don't know Kate's, Tex's, tigers, and diva's ages per se, but none of us are 12. 😄

Yes thats the power of the Pirates Movies...there is sooo much to discuss and on top of all that...Jack, Liz, Will, Norrington, Tia/Calypso, Davy, Gibbs, Barbossa etc. aren't even really characters to me anymore....they have seriously become like people to me and the basis of which I base everything now...lol!

Like I catch myself saying he has Jack qualities or She strong like Elizabeth! Or he is a worthy best friend like Gibbs was to Jack! These characters now represent real people for me and I have grown to love them with all my life!! It might sound crazy but it's true! I really do love them 😍 and I cant let go! Nor am I looking to let go!

I still don't understand why Lizzy agreed to marry Will. She was actually delaying the answer for quite a bit before saying yes. And this was after she was made Pirate King by Jack. This is probably discusssed to death before but can anyone try and help me come to terms?

i can answer that question: ah love-ah...a dreadful bond-ah....do i remind u of anyone yet?lol
anyway...YES! unfortunately she loves the whelp but her unresolved emotions for captain sparrow are just hotter and more enjoyable...WHY THE HELL DOESN'T SHE GIVE IN??? im afraid i dunno.

Well, the simple answer is that it really wasn't a good time, lol, seeing as how they might have been killed any minute.

I guess that during this whole movie, Liz was having second thoughts about Will. She thought she was justified in keeping what she did to Jack a secret, but she couldn't handle it when Will did the same thing to her, and then they are separated for almost the rest of the movie. Plus she's starting a new chapter in her life as Pirate King and maybe was considering just being single, having indirectly ruined so many men's lives. James and her dad had just died, going off with Sao Feng was a mistake, and Jack was still being pretty cold to her. I guess T&T want us to believe that when Will asked her a second time that it made her see how much she loves him...bleh.

i agree...bleh...the thing that bothers me most about WE is that we nnever see them as a couple. even in AWE...we see them get married, dirty it up on the beach and save each other but we never see WHY they want to do those things and WHAT makes them so great as a couple.

for me the greatest WE moment ever is when Will hands her the gun in DMC and says "whatever u do don't miss" and she knows EXACTLY what he's talking about...that was a great couple moment. other than that we just see WE being mushy and kissing and sighing and...blaaaaaaaaaaa

Doesn't help they have maybe 5 minutes of screen time together in the first movie. I accepted willabeth then. They were okay and it was at the time a stand-alone movie like someone said on another thread. But it left me doubting the fact that Will knows she can take care of herself. She kicked ass even in the first movie and he didn't get ot see any of it, so I hoped that he already knew that about her and that was one of the reasons he loves her. But the sequels came out and the dynamic changed and T&T wondered if they were being too subtle. Jeez.

Yes, in the first movie, you kind of get the impression that they are a great couple, but I think it's just because Will is the better choice than Norri (sorry Sailerleo!!) But what is not going out of my head is when Lizzie tells him he's a pirate and he bursts out like that, that's not how someone would behave if he was in love with her, even if it shocked him, or if he was angry?

What? It's been a while since I've seen the first movie, but what outburst are you talking about? I was under the impression that right after Liz calls him a pirate, he pulls her in and they have their first kiss. Am I missing something?

No, no... I meant when she just saved Will and under deck told him that it was his medallion. Then he smashes it on the table and then leaves her, that's why he later has to go back to find it when the ship explodes.

See but what aggrivates me is that when COTBP started, at least I get the feeling, that both Jack and Will kind of start off on the same boat!

Sure Will has known Elizabeth since childhood but they were from very different classes in Society and he always treated her with respect and such....so I doubt that Will and Liz had any substantial interraction through the years where Will can say to have a claim on her!

And Jack, well he and Liz meet by him saving her life! And that act of heroism immediately always bonds the rescuer and the rescuee together! Plus Elizabeth later reveals that she has read about Jack all her life giving a sense of some history reguardless of the fact of whether they have met or not. She knows about him and knows who he is!

With Will I think her crush on him grew over the years. At first maybe she was intriqued bc she found the Medallion on him, but then maybe she grew to like him. In COTBP she likes Will yes but she seems pretty oblivious to the fact that he likes her. She gets annoyed bc she wants to form a friendship with him in which they can be on a 1st name basis but figures Will's refusal is due to he not liking her. So there is NO RELATIONSHIP THERE!!

With Jack, you'd have to blind to not see the instant attraction and fascination in her eyes upon first seeing him! A connection far more impressionable than the connection Will and Liz had when she first met him. And once Norri revealed Jack's identity Elizabeth had to realize that Jack being a Pirate had risked getting caught by taking time to save her and what respectable Pirate would risk their neck and save someone else other than themselves? Any other Pirate would have left her drown and taken the opportunity that all the military men were rushing to help her to carry out his plan!

So my point is that at the begining of COTBP Jack and Will seemed to be at the same level with her. Will was her childhood crush and Jack was her childhood fascination! and then they decided to develop Jack and Liz'z story rather than Will and Liz's story by putting Liz and Jack 2gether most of the movie, showing they have chemistry and separting her from Will! So then why did Will have claim on her? In my opinion there wasn't enough to support that Elizabeth loved Will enough to not fall in love with Jack! She had no relationship with Will so the story could have easily gone down the Sparrabeth rode as well!

lol...im not sure I made sense so please forgive my ramblings but it frustrates me that ppl say Will and Liz were meant to be from the begining when even after I saw COTBP, b4 there was news of DMC or AWE, I was still left with a huge Jack and Lizzie impression even if it did end Will and Liz!
